Surprisingly, this song refers to the Holy prophecy of Jesus Christ (revealed recently) about the sad death of America (as a continent) - after frequent earthquakes, hurricanes and flood the ocean will cover it just before the apocalypse, as it is a second native land of anti-christ.
@DustXboy yeah man, I understand that... but all this just sound as like: 'I'm 12 and like this song, you see that? i'm 12 and like this song, this make me some kind of special creature' Y'know, age has not to do with musical taste and how old you are doesn't affect you way of thinking and choosing.
I've always loved Fogerty's tone from back in the day. Even with that horrible Kustom amp he favored, no pedals or board effects, he has an amazing swamp tone. I've tried to play through these solid state Kustom amps, and they invariably sounded shrill and unmusical, yet when Fogerty plug in, it just sounds right. Amazing.

has anyone noticed that the quality of the music in their live videos is almost as good as their studio recordings. this is because they actually have real talent and are excellent muscians, unlike half the muscians nowadays who have their music retouched a thousand times
Interesting... The amp he's playing through is the same as the one he plays through during the "Premonition" concert video. He mentions during that concert it was with him at Lodi and Woodstock so I'm thinking it's the same. He said it came from
Chanute, Kansas, but doesn't mention it's actual brand.
That's a good point and it just goes to show you that true talent doesn't come through technology and better equipment. True talent stands alone and these guys had it.
@MegaPiecat Exactly. That's because musicians from then used the K.I.S.S. principle (no pun intended.) Aka, "Keep it simple, stupid." It was more about songwriting and chord progressions and performing them clearly than about crazy effects or loops. It's virtually impossible to reproduce live what some artists put on their records today. (Unless you're, say, Radiohead or somebody.)
@MegaPiecat man i hear yah! and when i was 13 it seemed like they always had at least 3 songs in the top 10 for a few years. don't quote me on that but i'm telling you in 1968 '69 i think they were more popular than the beatles up in the bay area where i lived. dont quote me on that either, but i'll never forget 'the scott st.james express is '''''Smokin'!! and him going right into "put a spell on you" or pagan baby, or one of there's. and they removed all the chairs at a concert so that we cou
you seem to be a good guy. keep thinking like this and you will get smart and "anti-mainstream"! greetz ans respect because of your age while having such thoughts.
@MegaPiecat They have better equipment to distract them from becoming greater musicians. Back then musicians would go in with a notepad and a pen, a few acoustic guitars, a drumset, a piano and come back out of the studio with a master piece. Now you go in with electric guitars, one of those drum sets made of plastic and titanium, a few equalizers, fancy studio mix boards, and a pen, and notepad.
@MegaPiecat you realize today's rock bands play instruments hardly unchanged since this was recorded, yes? The improvement is on camera/recording equipment and cleaner transmission.

I'm 72 years old but when I listen to CCR I'm back in the time of my youth. Wow, what a time the 1950-1970's were, if you weren't around then I'm sorry you missed them. I live in Brazil, have lived here since 1974 and today I learned that John Fogerty is going to be doing his concert here in May. I hope I can partiipate. If not, I'll just turn up the volume on my laptop.
John's lead amp here is a Kustom K-200-A4 with 100 watts, reverb, tremolo/vibrato, distortion, and selective tone boost built in. For extra signal, he ran the 200's line out to a Kustom K-400 200-watt amp. The 200 went to two 2x15" Kustom cabs, while the 400 went to two 3x15" cabs, for 10 15" speakers and four cabs total.
The K-200 has two channels: effects and dry. John used the dry channel for harmonica. Effects were controlled by a footswitch.
@Glinkaism1 Hi ... it's a Shure SM-57 but the type that mounts right into the mic stand. You might be able to see the foam padding under the mic stand base!
There were two side-wash vocal monitors both sides of the stage.
@MadHighway Thank you! I thought I'd recognized it.
In a related topic, if you saw the Grammys, what kind of vocal stage mic was that? Or vocal mics, in general? Seems they kept the same mic all through. I'm guessing a Sennhesier? Not shaped like any SM 57 or 58.
@phantompanic ... you know... my boyfriend recently told me that for the longest time as a child and even into adulthood, that he thought the lyrics were exacly that... i strongly considdered leaving him! ROTFLMAO!!!!!

@mattmanmkb who cares? seriously who cares? just the fuck up about your age, it's about the MUSIC, not your age. even when I was your age I didn't do shit to get attention. grow up
@low72 U mad old man? Go shove a horse dick up your ass you faggot ass fucktard. I was replying to a comment you stupid fuck. Ill fucking cut of your balls and make you eat them you pussy ass mother fucker. Just cause you failed as music dont mean you gotta take shit out on me bitch.
@mattmanmkb if you consider 19 an "old man" then it is what it is. I'm saying, every video of older music i go on to there are kids who post there age like they're special or something. Yeah it's good you know what great music is, but it gets pretty old when age has nothin to do with the music, really who cares how old you are...and it's pretty tough to cut my balls off and make me eat them through the internet...you can try tho. Internet gangstaaaa.
John sure made that solid state Kustom amp sound good.

@Hoboscouts Because you don't. I have sampled your stupidity and now you've hooked onto my deliberate fishing expedition. Books line the thinkers.
