  • nice vehicle, but just SOME components in common with the focus? i just hope it doesn't have the same wonky blind spots from the flared rear end (surprisingly almost as bad as the aztek). i like the foot swing to open the hatch, although i wonder how many little old ladies will fall on their asses when they give that a try :p overall, thumbs up

  • Oh look, a Focus on stilts. And people accused Toyota and Honda back in 1996/7 of doing the same with the Rav4 and CR-V. I owned a Rav4 for 8 years. Great vehicle. People can be such hypocrits

  • Reminds me of the little aliens on Halo.

  • That dash is absolutely hideous and My Ford Touch is horrid to use. Looks decent, better than its predecessor, but I think it well sell less units.

  • It looks like shit

  • you got to do what you got to do!!

  • looks like an uglier cousin of an already ugly honda cr-v

  • I think it s ugly... I prefer boxy and on top of that it looks like the focus.. just like the edge looks like the new explorer. Too simmilar

  • My god I love consumer reports. I passed by the main building today in yonkers. I felt so passionate and told myself I want to work there. Keep it up! The new ford escape is going to be a strong competitor for the newly redisigned honda cr-v. I just wish ford did a coupe that could compete with the honda accord coupe. I would love to see a ford fusion coupe.

  • Looking impressive!

  • It must be a product planners nightmare when a vehicle like the Escape is still selling very well just as it is. Some people really love the boxy Escape as it is.

  • gosh one of these years a V6 engine will become extinct with all of the companies going with a turbo charged 4 cylander instead

  • The front is hideous

  • I personally do not like that Ford chose to get rid of the older models styling. Being that I work in construction, I have noticed that the Escape has been the "go to" vehicle for many construction company's fleet vehicle of choose do to to its rugged versatility and fuel economy. And with this new redisign it will no longer be setting itself apart from the rest of the compact suv crowd.

  • I'm so glad they finally updated it and I didn't like the boxiness of the previous model.

But how can they get rid of the hybrid? It had like the best MPG of any SUV

  • Looks very nice.

  • That trunk opening with a sensor under the bumper is such a cool feature. Now when your hands are full you don't have to shuffle your stuff around to get the tailgate open.

  • This thing is gorgeous! But i find it strange with the amount of escapes that they were selling that they redesigned it, but I'm happy that they did a radical redesign unlike Honda and Toyota of late. And that interior! Awesome!!!
