  • Your video is a favorite on Belmopan

  • Redo the video with a better mic please; this video is making it sound very ricey and I know it shouldn't.

  • Nice! How's the weight distribution with the bigger displacement all aluminum V6 compared to the stock L-series OHC engine?

  • Awesome swap, man. Kudos. I want to do a VQ in my 1971 PL521 pickup, but I want it with ITB's (Individual Throttle Bodies), with a 2.75" stainless steel pipes, halfway down the length of those pipes (true duals I forgot) slap on the ol' 16" glasspacks!

  • fucker probably sets you in that seat nicely

  • Sweet! It should be called "DimeZ". Sweet work. :D

  • It's sort of adopted the VQ510 name though DimeZ is cool. 510 chassis codes are PL510 so VQ510 has a nice ring to it.

  • @VQ510 Yeah it does, nice and punchy but flows right. Lol, sweet nickname but the other guy had a cool one too.

  • dayam that sounds nice. but a car like that needs thicker tires and rims that go pretty far in with negative camber. wait wtf am i sayin i dont have a car...

  • my dad has one

  • Hella SLC i know exactly where that on ramp is... Nice Car by the way looks and sounds sick!!!

  • THIS IS IN SALT LAKE

  • what's the whp?

  • how the fuck did u get all those parts to fit inside a datsun?

  • Measure twice along with trial and error

  • Sweet car and great tuning. Sounds like it runs better than a stock 350Z.

  • Damn... Its true, my brother in laws cousin bought it. I can't believe u let it go for $6,800 and u drove it to California. Now this car is in Premont Cali. Nice buy.

  • I do believe this is the reason why we now have our beloved Max's!!!

  • Very nice.

  • My loverboy's new toy. He loves it!!!

  • I've seen this car in Real Life California its the sickest dime ive seen in a while!!!

  • I had to sell the car, so it's new home is California. You may see it more often.

  • I love these engines soo much but they are soo damn expensive. Is that the 350Z engine? the rev up?

  • damn, that's one bad ass dime!

  • thats one sick 510, its pretty bad ass your in utah to, sucks your selling it would love to see it in action

  • Thanks man, The poor thing hasn't seen much action lately since I let the registration expire, so that I'll stop driving it and make it easier for me to let it go when I sell it. It's at $15,000 obo now.

  • That is a really bad ass car, you ever run it at the strip or autocross it?

  • I took it to the strip once right after I got it running and ran a couple mid 14's. It's definitely capable of more than now that I know how to handle it better. I almost took it to Miller Motorsports Park for some real racing, but $ was too tight at the time. That's where this car will really shine.

  • where did you source the motor from? I live in SLC too and i want to put a VQ in my 240

  • sick

  • wanna sell?

  • I don't want to but need to, so it's on the market for $16,500 (close to 25k put into it).

  • how much did the engine cost amnd where did you buy it?

  • I looked for several months & got this one locally for $2000. They can be had for about half that now though.

  • 13th south

  • Yes, that is 13th in SLC at the end of the footage. It's a nice on-ramp to row through the gears on.

  • Wow! What a nice ride. I bet your dad had one of those when you were born.

  • very nice mate, well done, is there a site with pics of the conversion process? did you need to modify the sump or the tranny tunnel?

  • Process info is posted on "the510realm" in the projects section under "VQ35DE swap progress". The front crossmember is reversed to clear the front sump & the trans tunnel was modified to fit the HUGE 6spd.

  • BTW, what is that castle thing at 0:46?

  • It's a Haunted House.

  • Very nice.. Love the ending.. Finally can hear that VQ scream..

I have driven a 350z before and I just love the sound..

    Awesome conversion..

How much did the VQ set you back and where did you find it?

  • After a few months of looking for a VQ I found one locally for $2000. Now that a couple years have past they can be had for a bit less than that.

  • My T-body is actually cable-driven, also part of the reason I did a custom intake elbow. The only way to do it DBW that I know of is with to use a stock ECU, but I wanted to use an EMS & making it cable was easy & preferable to me (responsiveness).

  • Props to you man! i really enjoy when somebody breaks outside the box...! even better when its a datto! great swap!

is the drive by wire TB a hassle to deal with?

    JC

  • Wow that is the same set up that i was thinking of doing before i was told that the engine is to heavy and would have problems with handling. How is the handling on it.I love the sound that motor makes. That is awesome. What city and state are you from?

  • The handling is great. From my research the engine itself weighs about the same as the KA24DE I used to have. The tranny is where some weight gain occurs but it's low & centered & doesn't hurt the handling.

  • whys you intake like on the right side and not the left

  • By flipping the intake elbow I clear the wiper motor & brake master cylinder. It also allowed me to use larger piping & utilize an 85mm Throttle-body compared to a stock Z's 70mm t-body.

    Thanks for the compliments.

  • ah i see thats pretty cool.

what tranny do you have in it

  • NICE

  • Syck! that thing is SWEET..VQ FTW!!

  • Im glad you put the link up, its just so.....BEAUTIFUL!
