when I make my quickcapture the audio is early or late from the video. Like you hear me say something then 2 seconds later you see my mouth move. Please tell me how to fix this. Please give a solution for a mac and pc as I use both

ok so mike, i have a theory... because in the video response i sent you i was talking about how my vids weren't complete (among the stupidity) well i think that its because when you navigate away from the page it is still in the middle of processing the video, because when i left it longer (like 10 minutes) it had more of my video, and if your wondering im using a dell precision 340

Yes, just go to the my_videos area and you'll see buttons there that will let you do a number of things - including delete the clips

Yeah it's really lame. I've tested and retested this on different operating systems with different cameras/microphones and different browsers and have never managed to get it to work properly. Major Fail :( I've resorted to uploading pre-recorded clips again as I'm not sure what else to do to get it working.

I didn't actually configure my machine that way - they just showed up in the options. Each machine is different and will have different devices available. Your machine might just have one option available. It doesn't make it any less effective providing it's capturing your voice properly and is recognised by YouTube. Make sense?

I quickly looked for this option but couldn't see anything that would suggest this ability was available. So I'd say pausing is probably not possible. Especially considering you're recording directly to YouTube, pausing the video feed could really confuse the system and might cause problems anyway.

Good vid. But do you know if its better to use a little quick-cam you buy at radio shack or a built in camera on your computer. Because when i record myself, my mouth doesn't match words and it also cuts off a couple of min. at the end of the video. Can you please respond?

If you're using the quickcapture there is no upload - after you complete the recording it should prompt you for metadata including title and description. Is that what you're seeing?

You're managing to get longer recordings than I am right now. Can you tell me what computer you're using and the internet connection speed?

It will be useful to see if there are consistencies between those of us who are having the problems and help in troubleshooting

Thanks for that. The computer I'm on today is Windows XP SP3, Logitech QuickCam Fusion, 4 GB RAM, 2 GHz CPU. I'm on a University connection today which is ridiculously fast. Not sure how fast exactly, but I managed to download a 700 MB file in 10 seconds a while back.

In my case the problem has gone from bad to worse. Moments ago I tried to record with the QuickCapture and the processing failed completely - none of the video made it through. :(

Can you tell me about the machine you're using? How fast is it & how much RAM does it has? Also, what's your internet connection speed?

This sounds like more of a bandwidth issue (or perhaps a lower spec camera) than one with QuickCapture. Blurry video quality occurring when you move tends to happen when the connection speed can't cope with the amount of movement in the video - it comes out looking like a smear.

Perhaps record 1 locally & see if it improves things, then we'll take another look

Unfortunately I don't have good results for you.

I conducted two tests - posted as video responses - and in both cases they were cut off prematurely. The first test used an Aspire One netbook, the second a MacBook laptop - both on the same network.

The Acer yielded better results relatively speaking - only 15 seconds were cut off; the MacBook lost more than half of the clip.

I'll look into this a bit further later. But I'm outta time for the moment.

Thanks for that tutorial. i have aquestion though. IM USING ASPIRE ONE notebook i tried making a video and it recorded like 4 min. but only published 31 seconds how can i make them longer videos?

Fantastic question - believe it or not my MacBook laptop has exactly the same problems you describe. Thou I've not yet been able to track down the source of the problem.

My wife bought an Aspire One last week; I'll have a look tomorrow & see what happens. That way I'm using the same machine you are in case there are machine specific issues.

Unfortunately most of the recordings I've made directly to YT - as opposed to locally recorded and then uploaded later - haven't gone so well lately.

You know, I have no idea. I imagine so long as YuTube can recognise the device and access the video and audio feeds it's certainly possible; but that's just speculation on my part. I also don't have a means of testing it. If anyone manages to get it working can I request they send it through as a video reply so the rest of us can take advantage of the experiment?
