Our city used to have one in the 80's and early 90's. Performance was great, BUT it used to tear up a lot. (I'm not bashing this machine; it's probably a lot better today than it was back then, I'm just sharing info.)
@GeneralSirDouglasMcA I believe you are speaking of the Wayne Sweepers based out of California, which no longer exists. Our company was started in 2007 by Wayne Engineering (a 50 year old refuse truck manufacturer) in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
This is the best Mechanical sweeper on the market. I have seen this machine in action and it has out performed all of the competition. If you have not had this unit in your city yet call them. You will be happy.
