i use a kukri when i go out camping and it works better than any hatchet or axe that i have used so far. fast, easy to use, and very effective. i use it for everything, shelter, fire, food, and anything that needs a sharp blade
I've used for years a really cheap folding saw, and just changed when it broke. at the moment I use a Felco 600. It's a very good saw, that costs 32$. In my Felco video you can see my former saw, which was a good one for the price (3.50$). Have you found a good saw for now?
I'm looking forward to part two. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us Red Hawk. I admire the level of comfort you have in front of the camera. Keep 'em comin'.
Bahco Laplander is popular but a little expensive. Gerber Exchange A Blade saw is good and cheaper. Check out the videos on Youtube by RCSuperPowers. They use the Gerber saw and did a review on it.
nice vid Harrison, and yeah u face it south or east because east gets you the rising sun so you can wake with it, and south because you can get the most amount of light in ur shelter. and if you add on a few more sticks to your second layer, you wont even need to weave in branches 5/5
Try a sawvivor for your folding saw, refrence nutnfancy on youtube he can point you in the right direction.

I like the Gerber slide saw. It runs about $15 and cuts like a machine.
