@thatoneshowguy I was mainly referring to the significant impact that monasticism has had (and still has) on Christianity throughout history up to this very moment. I was not insinuating that anyone is an idiot, although I may have been a bit harsh (forgive me). Moreover, I'm all for personal relationships with Christ. But I'm also for "communal" relationships with Christ. And sacramental relationships with Christ, especially. Such relationships have been ideally illustrated by Christian monks.

A few things: the dude in the sunglasses is an obnoxiously horrible actor. As annoying as the monk character was, the man who portrayed him in said annoying fashion wasn't bad.
