Beautiful video. The quote should be "To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men—that is genius." So many of us today prescribe to our "own" truths instead of believing them to be universal. Great work!

As steeped as America is in Christianity, there's something inherent in the American spirit that is individualistic, freedom-loving, freethinking, creative, and even somewhat pantheistic. Emerson, Thoreau, and their peers tapped into this, and I think it's a shame more Americans aren't familiar with their philosophy, which speaks so profoundly to the American sensibility.
