  • can anyone tell me where she is now im dying to see her

  • @brickmaster24 Portland, OR

  • Was that a police car driving next to the tracks at Washougal?

  • BNSF Police yes, they followed the entire trip. Very friendly and as long as you were where you were suppose to be, had no problem. I talked to one right before i got my first shot. He was just as excited to see the 4449 as the next person.

  • awesome video

  • This is your best video ever and goes in my favorites. 10 stars. Thanks Nic!

  • Who's Nic? XD

  • Very good video, a great chase!

    5*****

  • I watched this & got a big fever! And left home for 6 1/2 days Whitefish,MT to Fargo,ND & I was cured : ) thanks, friends of 4449

  • Fantastic footage. I loved the chase shots. I wanted more! :-) Got to experience what happened after it left Union Station.

  • These metal monsters have a soul,

    some bigger, some smaller.

At all, all they have it.

  • Because Amtrak does not own the tracks they run on. And it takes a lot for a big trip like this to happen!

  • I like your style. Noticing the police were very evident during the initial minutes of the video.

  • Very hard core!

  • Is it just me, or does the engine's mars light only have one bulb? I could've sworn it had two.

  • 4449's mars light was a twin-beam until this spring, when the crew restored the as-delivered single-beam light. It was still a twin-beam at Holiday Express in December; at Union Station for National Train Day in May it'd been changed. It takes a little getting used to, but I like it.

  • I'll be shooting the 4449 (among the other 7 steamers) at one of the TrainFestival night photo sessions and definitely should be authentic if they installed a single bulb mars light. I agree, I'll need to get used to it but still looks good!

  • Awsome What Kind Of Camera Did You Use For This Video Great Quality!

  • Canon ZR850

  • Foamers like the guy in the Ram you speak of ruin it for everybody else. Those people give other train enthusiasts a bad name.

  • I love the Music! Great video!

  • Ya, i was taking to one of my friends in the crew car and they said they saw that Dodge Ram get pulled over atleast once

  • I can't imagine how many other times he got pulled over

  • This is a well thought out and shot video. Kudos and thanks for posting it. We saw here here in Spokane/Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

  • I saw the Ram pulled over and wondered if it was a railfan. I think the white S10 passed the lead truck (by then the only truck) when it was going 60. More daring than I am.

  • Ya, i saw a big break in oncoming traffic so i went for it. Paid off in the end too. It allowed me to catch it coming into Wishram. However, no way in HELL i would drive as crazy as that guy in the Ram.

  • That guy took his own risk and it bit him in the ass

  • @ 6:03, wonder who that is in the White S-10....... no idea..... You can hear you yelling at me as you went past. Nice video. I will get mine posted tomorrow.

  • Haha. Can't wait to watch it

  • Great Video! I waited at Skamania for 4449 & caught the departure from Wishram. Might have got there in time for the arrival if not for those trucks! I caught up to them at Stevenson & was behind the dump truck until it turned. The other wasn't bad, going 60 for a while, but the tunnels freaked him & he slowed way down for each & I passed him. Was briefly ahead of 4449 west of Wishram & saw everybody with camera out, but in the time it took to get down into Wishram 4449 beat me to the station.

  • Great work, check your title, though. It's "Maryhill"

  • nice vid! great shots, editing, everything! 5:56 i think we might have been in the same chase line, we were probably about 3 or 4 cars down from you. haha i think we all got stuck behind that dump truck.

  • Haha. Thanks. Everyone probably just wanted to obliterate those trucks!

  • i was in the car right behind the dump truck. i was just glad i was able to catch it again at Horsethief lake.

  • I wanna see how your video turned out!

  • Simply awesome. Wish I could be there, but you capture the excitement so well!

    trk

  • Chasing it was a challenge. I only had a few minutes to spare for my 3rd shot. Great stuff!!!

  • Haha All right! Gigidy. Great video! Wish I could have gotten down there to see it.

  • Ha! that was me at 5:00. great video!

I hate it how I couldn't catch up with the train because of those two semi-trucks.

  • Oh god. Those semi-trucks SUUUCCCKKKEEEDDD

  • indeed!!!! At least that ass hole in the blue Dodge ram finally got pulled over. He was going to kill someone the way he was driving.

  • Agreed. I wonder if the 4449 crew saw him getting pulled over ;P

  • He is the type of idiot that makes it bad for all of us. He was still trying to run people off the road Saturday all the way to Whitefish. Too bad someone didn't let the air out of his tires at a stop Thats why the WSP was out front of the line all the way to Wishram

  • Ya, that was some trip! god I hate those pacing lines though.

  • BNSF Special Agents chase them all the way to Michigan, do you know?

  • Did you see a guy in a Daylight denium shirt and dirty jeans with a Daylight hat at Wishram 4449steam?

  • I did indeed. Why?

  • That's a heart pounder!

    Very pretty lady. Thank you!

  • Wow. Simply wow. Awesome work dude.

  • This is incredible... one of the first videos I've seen of SP 4449 starting its trip!! It looks even better than I imagined! It's days like today that makes it SO great to be a railfan!! Thanks for chasing and getting the vids... which couldn't have been easy with the masses of people!! Awesome!!

  • Excellent Video! I wish i had such a beautiful steamer as that out here in PA!

  • I fired the engine for the past few days and I rode the trip from Portland to Wishram. AND That's me in the crew car waving at 2:42, in the back of the door.
