@CIVIC170 Yes I did. They killed the baby orca in order to do that movie. It was no movie prop being dragged in the water. They knew this would happen if they shot the calf and indeed an excellent footage was made.

I saw this movie on TV a long time ago... It marked me so badly, yet in a positive sense that I can't stand animal cruelty, the simple act of seeing something of the sor taking place near me i do everything in my "power" to stop it at once. Great, yet tragic, movie. :/

the killing is so pointless, yes, it works as a terror movie but noting more, in that movie the charateres are only 2d mensionals, or are good or bad, the shark is already bad, and second in thsi movie the charecter aren only or black or withe, are grey, the hunter dont whant to hunt the whalee because he had a similar thing in the past(a drunk man kill his pregnant wife) fight the whalee is like fight whit his inner demons, the female main caracter is neutral, he fell compasion

Of course I'm not saying that we should wipe out the entire population of kller whales. However, I also saw a documentary where multiple killer whales surround a baby grey whale while trying to get to the other side with it's mother. The killer whales eventually kill the baby and the mother cannot do anything and also dies. It was sad. But it's the food chain. We are all essentially predators. @11cholito Well, is it a tradition that in the west people eat cows? In some parts of the world a cow is respected and we kill them by the tons every day. I'm actually kind of sick of all these people trying to "protect" an orca because of it's intelligence blah blah blah. It's called the food chain. Killer whales kill the calfs of grey whales and humans kill the killer whales for food. The killer becomes the killed. It's a cycle of life.

@2cool4u24 there is only 77 killer whales left in the sea, they have familys, and feel stronge emoutions for each other.. how would u feel if some one came along and killed one of your family for fun or for food? i under stand we must eat etc, but a orca is not breed for food.

Of course I'm not saying that we should wipe out the entire population of kller whales. However, I also saw a documentary where multiple killer whales surround a baby grey whale while trying to get to the other side with it's mother. The killer whales eventually kill the baby and the mother cannot do anything and also dies. It was sad. But it's the food chain. We are all essentially predators. I'm sick of people always saying save this save that, and don't look at all sides.

thats a sad clip to watch, orca's are one of my favorite animals. to see one orca carrying a deceased orca is heartwrenching. fake i know, iv read all the comments to reassure myself. but its still sad to see it being done.

You speak of the japanese not caring about the earth and ecosystem but what about the BILLIONS of animals killed world wide every year. Do you think of the once living breathing cow as you eat your cheeseburger? i didnt think so. Whaling is just a slaughterhouse in the ocean. The only difference is we can see it the slaughter happening.

Japan is one of the countries that ignores international laws about whaling fisheries ,,,they take 1200 whales and say it's for research,bullshit ,Greenpeace is on this now and the world should do more to protect and stop sitting around
