  • I used to work and Macy's and they played this music video all the time. My music appreciation matured during that time

  • This is real indie rock in the spirit of 80's punk/DIY. Three amazing women who made great music but acted like regular people, not full of themselves. Way better than all those shite "post-punk revival" and "indie" bands that Pitchfork jizzes all over.

  • corin tucker is hott

  • YOUR no rock n roll fun. your to crispy clean. god. ive been looking for good new rock bands and you are not it.

  • I turned the speakers up really loud because I thought there was no sound. .-.

  • Who was this song actually aimed at? It's obviously a dig at someone or some band. By the way Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein are now in a band called Wild Flag.

  • Loving the inflated goon bags.

  • There is apparently something VERY interesting up at the top-left. I wish I could see it too. :(

  • I wake up to this every day as my alarm clock song.

  • holy shit haha I forgot all about these chicks. I saw them open for... someone... think it was Pearl Jam. Forgot all about 'em.

  • Is that Janet Weiss from Quasi on drums?

  • Comment removed

  • @Thexxman123456 Yep, that's her.

  • @Thexxman123456 She was actually in Sleater Kinney first. No, actually she was in Quasi and then went to focus on Sleater Kinney while she did Quasi at the side. But now since there is no Sleater Kinney she is just in Quasi full time now, oh and she has also been working with Carrie on her new band Wild Flag. Damnn, Janet is mad busy.

  • the coolest...fingers crossed for the reunion. think theyre just jerking our chain?

  • they are SO GOOD. perfect catchy riffs whats not to like?

  • i just learned that carrie brownstien from portlandia plays the guitar in sleater kinney

  • 23 people are no rock N roll fun

  • carrie is such a rockstar!

  • Lacking attitude. Vocals are mediocre. Plain style.

  • @SuperBecksy stupid opinion,potencial ignorance,lack of music sense

  • @kloberant It is "potential" not "potencial". Looks like you are the ignorant one.

  • ACDC

  • I teach guitar on Sleater-Kinney in Lacey. I think of this band every time I go teach at South Sound Music. A couple of blocks down Pacific Music 600 has a great collect of Kurt Cobain receipts and such too. Pacific was a huge concert road back in the old days as well.

  • This actually is pretty interesting music. I didn't like their compositions when I first head them but they make sense now.

They're at least high energy and open to sex and rock music unlike some Folk and Baby Boomer Pop Rock which is just so annoying after awhile.

  • @mediattackrecords Lance Hahn from MRR is a big influence on this band obviously. Good stuff.

  • They deserve way more love

  • @CapitalFProductions are you serious? get outta here!

  • @CapitalFProductions How would you A and R them to sound like The Supremes, Dido, or Joy Diviision?

  • yes it took a while...but i finally understand the awesomeness of this song

  • 0:32 she taught at rock n roll camp for girls.. i swear o.O

  • They don't have a bassist?

  • excellent post

  • True Love <3

  • I think I'm the same age as their parents. I still want to ravage their armpits. Oh christ free me from this mortal coil!

  • they're obviously making fun of corporate (male-managed) girlbands. that's why they aren't even holding their picks right. jesus.

  • I used to live right near the street there named after...haha

  • The best part of this song is the drum fill at the 1:17 mark ..

  • i have been a fan of theirs for a good 15+ years. they never let me down and their music will always inspire me and put me in a better mood when i am having a bad day. it was their music that got me through my surgery last year, and it is their music that gets me thru physical therapy 5 days a week/2 hours a day. i love this band!

  • So awesome that I got to see them right before they disbanded. They were amazing at the Metro in Chicago.

  • they're both holding their picks wrong:P not that there is a right way to play an electric guitar.....so who cares really....just me, i guess...

  • @leiposuctie I noticed that too, but I actually used to hold mine that way when I still played guitar regularly because I always used really thick picks and the heaviest gauge strings because I just played really rough.

  • @EatYerDamnWheaties i'm a light-gauge man myself.

  • 0:00 <---------- click this bullshit to skip the ad

  • they are all back as of Oct 2010-in 2 bands- divide and conquer ...again!!

  • they are cute:)

  • Does anyone else notice the drummer has on an orange hat at 1:33.

  • Fucking great band

  • Beavis and Butthead should review this video.

  • One of the best bands of the 90s and damn... cute too.

  • One of my fave songs by one of my fave groups!

  • One of my fave tracks from onne of my fave groups!

  • Wait...Janet's (the drummer) outfit totally changes in the background the first like 2mins. weird!

  • Ugh Heavens to Betsy was like really awesome

    This is just too usual

  • @alotofcheese76 haha, I can't tell if you're being ironic or not. Just because it's a more mainstream sound doesn't make it bad. Personally I only like a couple of songs from the HTB album. I think their song writing skills definately developed as they went on, with Dig Me Out, Hot Rock and Bad One being their best albums.

  • hey it's the GoGos, kind of only not really at all. I got a minute in. Bye Bye. Click.

  • is this a really poppy song for them?

  • That Carrie Brownstein very funny. Heard her on an NPR podcast last week. This has a big of a Tegan and Sarah vibe to it.

  • awesome band

  • I don't really like it =/

  • They're cute and everything but the music's hitting me as kinda shallow.

  • @0pine0tron6000 this song is fairly straightforward, thought I don't know if I'd say it's shallow considering how tongue-in-cheek the whole thing is. Check out some of their other stuff. This song is uncharacteristically poppy.

  • @0pine0tron6000 heheh... you should check out more songs before you come to that conclusion. I think you'll like them.... they are very energetic and rawk. This is a rare bubble-gummy sounding song. They usually have one of those per album.

  • @0pine0tron6000 go listen to some radiohead or some shite then

  • The size of our love is the best lovesong ever

  • amen milkmankennedy. amen

  • What makes this good?

  • @Neweddy24

This is the second Sleater-Kinney video you've negatively commented on that I've seen. Why do you bother to watch if you don't like it?

  • @ma1286 I heard on NPR that they were "the best band of the century" or some crap.

  • One of the girls probably dumped him/her and this is their sweet revenge.

  • I love this song. I never saw the video. I saw them live in Portland a few years ago!!!!!! oh and I danced madly!

  • When Sleater-Kinney put out this album, they were like the kings of the genre to me and I also remember the lyrics to the song #1 must have just blew me away.

  • These guys were my first concert when I was 9. Love this album!

  • My Fav S-K song

  • I got this album after I read several rave reviews of them. It took a couple of listens for most of the album to catch on because I was used to crunchier guitars. But man, those melody lines we so catchy, it didn't take long. I hope they get back together at least for a tour. I'd travel 300 miles or more to see them.

  • proving even making a pop tune, it will kick anything else's ass

  • Corin's eyes melt my very soul!

  • yep

  • BEST FEMALE BAND EVER!

  • @8nazza7 Best band ever. Period.

  • @8nazza7 you mean best BAND ever. They shit all over any "male" band.

  • Carrie is just too fine.....

  • uuuuu.....buuuuu...

  • awesome dlc song

  • This chicks are ONLY the single coolest chick band to ever play... Can't get enough of them.

  • @ Stigmatainmypants

But what about L7 or Bikini Kill?

  • i love corin tucker!

  • I LOVE SLEATER KINNEY!

  • First saw SK on Letterman, and in 4 minutes, in the Ed Sullivan Theater, the Beatles became an also. Saw the "Carrie/SXSW" video, *sob*. If there was Quasi, thunderant, and songs with Eddie V, I may just cope.

  • Comment removed

  • this track reminds me a lot of pavement.

  • My first SK concert was 1995 in Chicago, and my last was in Nashville during the Woods tour, just prior to the infamous "indefinite hiatus" message. There was and still is, no better....

  • Comment removed

  • But it's so damn catchy. Jumpers will still be my all time favorite.

  • @mistabook THIS comment received too many negative votes??? Jesus, people are completely retarded now. You say anything even mildly critical of anything related to their pet band and they go apeshit. You people are morons.

  • @mistabook And for the record, Sleater-Kinney is one of my all-time favorite bands. You morons.

  • like em .. no fake shit !! good stuff!!

  • Wow, they are/where such a great band. IMHO no song of them is boring or bad. Every album totally kicks ass. Makes me feel happy everytime i hear them.

  • Great video - too bad MTV only played it once at 1AM on one of the last episodes of 120 Minutes

  • 1am in the morning, really?

Haha, ridiculous... anyways, 120 Minutes was probably my only favorite thing to watch on MTV... now there's really nothing to watch.

  • is it just me or carrie really does look like clea duvall?

  • Finally someone who agrees with me?

  • absolutely, mate. :)

  • they're so lovely that they make my heart ache.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm on a total sleater-kinney kick right now. One of the most underappreciated bands of our times.

  • @Stigmatainmypants I agree!!

  • @Stigmatainmypants

Stop using the word "kick" to describe what you're into right now, it's fucking annoying.

  • @moonphoenix1 Maybe they're on a "kick" kick.

  • @moonphoenix1 Did i do it more then once? :P Blows my mind that i commented on this video a year ago. BLOWS my MIND. S-K still rocks!

  • Blown up wine sacks all around me!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, the best female band and one of my favorites. This is rock and roll fun!!! Let's go!! I really like this song. The best band since Nirvana.

  • What a great little track,i love it :)

  • BOOSH!

  • I LOVE THIS GOD DAMN BAND!!!!!

  • The best female band, since 1995...The best band of rock and roll after Pearl Jam!

  • so what would you say is the best female band of all time then, pre 1995?????

  • team dresch.

  • LOVE THE SONG! ITS AWESOME!

But have you guys ever noticed how at 0:15 the drummer has a NO SLEAVE blouse, then at 0:17 she has a LONG SLEAVE blouse?? That alwayz crackz me up! HAHAHAHA!

  • youre on drugs, but that is odd

  • HAHAHA! Thnxz??

  • Nice!

Ive seen this video over 100 times, and I would of probably never noticed it myself!

  • Yah and at 1:33 she has a pink hat on

  • Awesome band! I love them!

  • Little band? You are ridiculous, johnny.

  • I meant little as in `they`re not exactly household names`...Are they big? Headlining above The Rolling Stones for example? They`re a good LITTLE band... :-)

  • Great song.

  • Great little band this.. Saw them in London 10 years ago... How time flies....

  • your a geezer... 10 freakin years ago...

  • love it!
