Yes its True, on the the original from 1939 on set a munchikin did commit suicide i don't now why i've heard many theroys but in 1982-83 when realesed for VHS not sure exact year, but on the VHS u can see a munchkin commit suicide but when they remastered the movie they eddied it and made a bird apper in 1999-2000 its true ive even seen a documentery on the wizard of oz and they siad its true

the bird is an edit for the later versions

what i saw in the original was certainly himan looking, but i'm not sure

but it looked close enough to scare me a bit

i saw the rope...the body...and i even saw the "body" swinging

The scene in munchkin land isn't true. Got the digitally enhanced version and when comparing it can be seen that it is the girl in the background that has a dress on that may give it that appearance. Also the other scene is a bird, legs wouldn't go perfectly horizontal if it is true.

Obviously every film stage has backstage activity that slips onto the camera once in a while. Even if it were a hanging or whatever you think it is, that still wouldn't be effective "subliminal" material because it has no message. Merely showing a hanging doesn't express political content. See, if somebody had never really watched the movie but had heard about it, this would be believable. Technically nobody can prove that there wasnt technically any hanging in that scene, it could have easily been a bird or a munchkin hanging itself from a prop. No one can prove it.
