  • I love the music but they are ridicously faggots

  • Well screw it i love em they are awsome

  • I seriously think I couldn't put a worse video together if they blindfold me and said "ACTION".

That was PAINFULLY bad. They had NO identity when they left the costumes behind. The group looks like a mix between KISS, Adam Ant, Star Trek the Next Generation and Afrika Bambaataa.

  • another talentless rapper stole a classic song? ugh music sucks today.

  • Five o'clock in the morning Village People single released on the 30 March 1981 charts in at No 34 on the 20th April 1981 making No 4 on 25 May 1981.

  • excellent

  • I thought this was tpain. GHEYY !

  • Wtf ?? Why ?

  • Whos the tall one in the red jacket?

  • got kicked in the balls or something?

  • nice shoulder pads

  • I was expecting this to sound like lilly allens song 5 o'clock hahaha not even close !!!

  • omg so gay

  • perfecto

  • There is so much that comes to mind, and so many words, surreal is one, ridiculous another...for certain reasons...but beyond it all, this is an AMAZING song!!!

  • What time was it again?

  • most of the music of today has no emotion

  • Yeah.. the Village People just could not pull off the New Romo look and look cool.

  • @Spectreman They really couldn't.

  • Thisone is one of the best from Renessaince.

  • She's sad cuz he's fuckin' GAY.

  • GREAT BAND!...every song they created are original and this is a chef d'oevre in the world ..I like it so much as others...wonderful voice !

  • 30 seconds advert, it's ridicolous

  • I had this album!

  • one of my fav of macho...I love this song and music wow

  • Both KISS and these guys tried to go through that new wave romantic look. Imho,I think KISS looked pretty cool with that look, but the VP,they look interesting in their videos...but nah.

But looking in hindsight, they're original images with their music was far the better anyways. No substitute for the 70's classics right.

  • PARECE GAY

  • Okay I'm sorry I can't keep it in. It's five o'clock in the morning in the city that never sleeps? NY? Well they are walking around in the Wall St. area by the NY Stock Exchange. Who the hell do you expect to find down there?

  • the lead singer has a great voice

  • which bloody city is empty at 5???

  • Long live the Village People!!

  • Alle 5 del mattino questo brano mi rende costipato.

  • I have the entire Renaissance album, and think it's totally underrated. Granted, the Adam Ant look doesn't suit them as well as their old outfits did, but the music was still as catchy as ever. :)

  • This has that almost KISS Music From The Elder vibe to it. I can see where Casablanca was going with all there arts now. More electronic orchestrical music and not disco.

  • Bellissime!

  • favolosi.......

  • Ray is the brother of Valerie Simpson (Ashford & Simpson.

  • BAAAAAAAAAAABEEEEH

  • the best part of the song is up from 1.14 to 2.10

    cheers.

  • One of my favourites ^^

  • Fantastic song...too bad Jaques Morali felt that the guys had to dress in the "New Romatic" look.

  • village people......unici....

  • Wow, I always wondered what this era of the group sounded like. This is AWESOME! Gots to get this on CD!

  • atmosfera

  • I have the album

    LOVE IT

  • memories oh boy ....i owned this album !!!!!wasnt bad i like it

  • never knew they had so many music videos. They should put out a DVD.

  • who cares if they are gay or not? they was great on their time!

  • grandi... i numero uno!!

  • Leatherman, not gay

  • @tom, bad management they thought they could change the image of them and attract a new group of fans, why the costumes? medevial looks not sure again someone must have thought this would be a hit someone fronted the money, someone said normal clothes would have been better agreed. I think its a good song passionate and good vocals by ray

  • One question, were they gays indeed?

  • Yes apart from the original lead singer Victor Willis ( Sailor/ Police officer ) and David Hodo ( construction worker ).

  • LBJTV, im sorry your half right David Hodo is Gay he lives with his partner of 20 plus years, the orig Cop is straight i believe Glenn Hughes was Bi but i always heard he was more into girls then men. Fleppi is Gay and Randy is Gay and Alex is Gay, Ray is also not Gay he is married

  • Oh ok thanks..

  • LBJTV, your very welcome I met David Hodo in 78 from what i remember he may have had a girlfriend also but i know he had a boyfriend and they live together now, David was pretty quiet abt his lifestyle and also Alex the GI he really never showed up with a guy at dinners and such but i was ard 13 at the time sio its fuzzy to be honest but Glenn was like a second bro big and was a pen pal Glenn wrote to me for years, and i had his phone number and i would call him weekly he had a great heart!!

  • I luv this video... it spells "1980'S"!!!****

  • @raykuanlabel I agree Adam Ant and Boy george and the costumes were the 80's lol, also Dead or alive it was a fun era!!! I like both Punk and Disco lol im 44 now and its like what was i doin??!!

  • HAhaa, well, I'm 14 and i wish i was doing all that (mostly in the late 70s)

  • They changed there image to try remake themselve, it was the Punk age, new wave really the Gay thing is over really whoever is Gay will have to answer we will all have to answer someday to God so let it rest not all of them were gay and the music was great Disco!!! but not a 80's song at all, they need Willis back like Simpson but Willis is VP

  • Umm... maybe they though man cleavage would sell?

  • and men cleavage was kind of popular back then anyway...

  • this music is great! I mean music nowadays are full of shit! and who gives a damn if you think its gay? they're awesome so dont bother posting that they're all gay!

  • @obliVion, I agree the music was fun and great to dance to back in the day im 43 so i was in the Disco age at what 11? had a lot of fun this song is ok not what i expected from the VP and im glad they went back to playin Disco it was a great try but to be honest no Willis as lead it was rough to have Ray as the lead like him but Victor is VP imop

  • The song is solid, but the new look for them was too much.

They'd have been better off just in normal street clothes.

  • I didn't know this song yet.

    Thanks. Gaygreetzz Holebis ♥♂♂,♀♀♥

  • Outstanding music!!! PERFECT!!!!

Music nowadays is full of shit.

  • @mexmetal666 Well music today is filled with violence, explicit sexuality, aggressive lyrics, and lots of computer mumbo jumbo. These days music hurts when you hear it and embarrassing to watch.

  • @mexmetal666 your just madd granny pant

  • he's got better make up than she does.

  • Great Great and Great!

  • Yeah this is great,thanks for sharing,Andre : ))

  • cool, thanks for sharing...

  • if i was out at 5 in the morning, ide be scared shitless if some random guys just started following me!

  • This is a great song from a sorely underrated album, Renaissance. But man, this video is awful. It's cheese personified. No need to do that to such a cool tune. RCA Records killed this record.

  • This is probably the only song from that album I choose to remember, and the video damn near kills it for me. I'd like some crackers to go with this cheese.

  • @BenPanced, i agree but Diet song was funny and light and of course Big Mac, i had heard a rumor that song was for McDonalds but they pulled out of the deal!! so the album had some funky other songs "Fireman" and "Do you wanna spend the night?" "Out in the Jungle" lol and of course "Action Man" oh boy i was like no............lol

  • Early version of Kanye?

  • lmao.

  • È stata una casino di tempo al primo posto in classifica.

    Bellissima.

  • Those guys were amazing! They stepped up and threw down some slammin' shit and the punk/new wave crowd took notice. You can totally hear how Devo ripped off their sound.

  • except for the fact that Devo predates them by 5 years ;)

  • Sorry, my sarcasm may not have translated in that comment.

  • Does this Band changed members during their carrier?

  • I wonder if this inspired MJ

  • ciao Rox te la ricordi vero eh??

  • this is just life RickRoll danm!!!

  • bbbbbbeautiful song! i love this song tooo much, fantastic music, very mesmerising.I keep on listening to this music endlessly, still i want to listen to it again and again

  • I lol'd.

  • @tolutokoya This song came out 2 years before Beat It dude.

  • Good song :D

  • no he isn´t RJ, he is JEFF OLSON.

He still belongs to the VP as a cowboy.

    cheers/Luke.

  • i really dnt get wat this video is even abt...but oky!!!

is randy jones in this video? i cant recognize him without his mustache...(the 1 who plays the cowboy)

  • i think the video is about betraying the one you love with indifference, the one who is the cowboy is dressed in the red and black jacket ,the indian is in the gold jacket the soldier is in green the biker is in black and the construction worker is in the black and purple he also has something tied arround his jeans

  • In Victor's biography and how the village people didn't recognized him in the tribute, I beginning to understand that Victor and the group didn't get well together. I think that Victor could have a more serious group or even go solo during these times and could of been more famous that way...

  • Victor's being straight in a predominantly gay lineup was one factor behind his alienation...add in that he married Phylicia Allen (who'd later be Clair Huxtable on "The Cosby Show" billed as Phylicia Allen-Rashad) at the height of his success with the VP.

Great soulful voice, though...one reason why I love the VP's music in spite of the overt gay subtext.

  • lol, hahahahahahaha

  • I always thought I was a winner

  • ITS 5 OCLOCK AND YOUR SMOKING COCK

  • one of their´s best hit, in the 80´s.

  • mostravano un omossessualita' aggressiva e non sdolcinata

  • I Know that disco movement has come to and end in 1980, maybe that,s why this song sounds like shit to me. They dont look like village people anymore...

  • YEAH..beat sucks big time..it was transition period of music i guess...hey this songs beats the music we got today!??

  • yeah

  • jajajajajaja lol

  • ...............

  • i clicked this because its 5AM too.

    HI5

  • The only reason I clicked this was because it is 5am now....I like my choice!

  • I don't think it's the fact that the songs started to "blow" (your words); but just the fact that the Village People were seen as a disco thing and were outdated and for them to crossover and try to reimage themselves for a new decade didn't fit the music industry (with their "new image")...if that makes any sense (this, being my own personal opinion). Personally, I like this song, with some of their other 80's stuff (New York City, Sex Over The Phone).

  • !! me encanta, es espectacular!!!

  • Wow, this song is actually tight. The VP could have had a New Wave career if they had successfully re-branded. Who knew?

  • what really happend to victor?

  • Reportedly, drugs!

  • wtf wheres victor

  • man did they suck after Victor left

  • willis is the best

  • Listen 2(search4) this "C.O.M.B.i.- It a Late" killer-edit

  • Minkia che bella questa canzone ..non la ricordavo' piu'..!!

  • Bellissimi tempi peccato che non ritornano piu' ............

  • Gli anni '80 che belli! che tristezza però

  • ...bei tempi...purtroppo andati...

  • One of the best songs of VP, it's a pity that in Argentina, this videoclip was never ever showed again.

I love the chorus, the main vocal, and the string arranges, as well as the '80 style video.

  • I heard this song ONE time 28 years ago and always remembered it. I decided to search for it here and youtube didn't let me down. Thanks!

  • that has got to be the worse looking jacket i ever saw...but i like the ugly the ugly thing .i think that the village people are cool

  • Wow, this is definitely a flashback. I recall it was a "B" side to a 45rpm record. Great Village People video.

  • Wonderful song, great video.

  • ghastly but fun! is that a drag queen he's singing to? lol

  • Thankssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting! Love the song!

  • AWESOME SONG!!

  • I love V/P and seen them live when they came to the U.K in the very early 90's......I can see where Jacko got insporation for Thriller now though!

  • great!!!!!
