  • I liked it. Thought it was good to think through the many negative implications of technology, although I'm not sure this progression can be stopped. I think the speaker probably is overstating the negative aspects in his 51/49 rating because they will be minimized automatically by those likely to watch.

    Disclosure: I met my wife online over 6 years ago. My first wife I met in person the old fashioned way and that didn't go so well. :-)

  • Relationships formed via the internet are *not* synthetic. You can meet someone via the internet, but the work to form and sustain the relationship happens in a real environment. That was one of many ridiculous things you said. The internet is 51/49 positive/negative? I see so few negatives about the internet that I have to believe you live in a different world from me.

  • @Jude1955 I agree with you on relationships - if they are handled correctly. There are some people that leave them online and synthetic and that is what I am referencing. Or are you saying that all relationships are perfect online? I respect your opinion on the 51/49. I suspect I live in the same world as you, but see it from a different lens
