Just sold 4305 in an hour and a half. Made $775.5. someone call the BBB, i think this scam over payed me!!! \(*o*)/ . BTW if you believe what other people think then good look at life. let me know how that goes for you!
I love my job at Vector I am an assistant manager with the southwest region's fort collins office and I have sold over 6k of product. It's helped me grow so much and I love it.
Look. I'm a business master's student with an Bachelor's degree in the same area and I've done this bullshit. Mike is half right. Vector is a terrible fucking company whose distribution chain is living in the fucking 20's when direct marketing was relevant. Cutco makes the best functioning kitchen tools in the world. Period. If they only revamped their distribution to conventional and online methods, they would dominate the industry. Stop this door-to-door, appointment shit.
@mechmusician Just FYI, Vector/Cutco is on track to sell more that $300,000,000 worth of product this year. that's more that Henkels (#2 brand behind Cutco) sold in the past 5 or 6 years. we are projected to be a billion, with a B, dollar company within the next 10 years.... if it ain't broke brotha' don't screw with it...
I love the Office and I think it is SOOOO funny that he mentions working for CUTCO. I've been working for CUTCO for a year now and have hit FSM promo which means I make 50% commission! It is a sick job--it has plenty of struggles but it has helped me grow so much as a person. Wouldn't trade my paychecks, experience, friendships and relationships I've built because of it, or the experience for anything. :) CUTCO is why Michael can sell! hehehehe
Soo I just started working for Vector selling the cutco product now for the last 2weeks and am just wondering why are some of you hating on them?Cuz idk I've met alot of ppl who have had cutco fer awhile now and are rly happy with it and one of my friend's mom inherited her sets from her parents and she loves the knives and shears. So why are some of you saying their evil and what not if the customers seem happy?
@Dhlbman18 It's actually the bad experience they have had with their office mostly, some managers aren't the most honest people and tell their employees to say things that aren't truthful to get a sale. If you work at a good office, and are willing to put in the time. By all means it's an awesome job. I just started working yesterday and already made 4 sales.
religion, politics, and cutco - the three most heated topics of conversation in history. I am still fascinated that this company can create such crazy debates. It's pretty hilarious. btw i've worked for them as a rep and manager.
@Coolaid4507 Never put 'morals' in conjunction with anything related to Vector marketing or Cutco. Cutco lies to its employees, who in turn pass down lies to their prospective clientele. Its not the sales rep's fault, because they don't know anything about cutlery. Cutco produces cheap stamped hollow ground blades yielding terrible edge retention, with cheap injection molded handles. If Cutco is the world's finest cutlery, then McDonald's is the world's finest restaurant.
@RebelWrestler45 I don't know what your experience was with vector marketing, but my experience is great enough to stand up for.
I don't sell cutco cutlery anymore, as i am a computer repair tech level 1, and make more doing that.
the blades are not hollow (in fact they have shown how they make their cutlery to modern marvels), they have excellent edge retention (also proven on modern marvels), and the handles are made of "football helmets"... well the same materials anyway.
@Coolaid4507 Hahaha; thank you for reinforcing my point that Cutco reps know nothing about cutlery. A "hollow grind" is the concave primary grind that is done on Cutco's cheapo stamped 440A blade blanks. In addition, Catra trials only test relative wear resistance, not impact or pressure resistance; the blade might be able to cut through cardboard for a while, but some moderate contact with the cutting board will roll or blunt the edge, thus instantly dulling it; terrible edge retention.
@RebelWrestler45 Your facts are nonexistent sir. Please list some legit sources of your claims.
Have you ever used/owned cutco? My set is about 1 year now old and is still sharp.
"the blade might be able to cut through cardboard for a while", it has been proven that their blades last the longest compared to any other blade on the market for lasting-performance even though i believe Henkles or Wustaf Knifes has the better performance starting out, but quickly diminishes with all the competition.
@Coolaid4507 I've sold thousands of dollars worth of Cutco; if a knife can't pop hairs, it isn't sharp. Not even CPM S90V could last a year in the kitchen and be sharp. It is widely known in the knife community that 440A is the lowest end, cheapo stainless steel (only thing worse is 420 series stainless). With an HRC of 55, it has terrible impact and wear resistance. Cutco hasn't tested their blades against top competition in their Catra tests; they didn't test their blades against Shun at all.
@Coolaid4507 Never go to a company's site for unbiased analysis of product quality, I'll PM you some links. Just remember, whenever you are selling or promoting a product, its good to do some outside research, rather than just accepting the company's marketing propaganda.
If you can afford a 1000 dollar widescreen tv that you will use every day before it will be replaced in 5 years, you can afford a 1000 dollar set of knives that you will use everyday for the rest of your life...and then be able to put it on your will.
im a sales rep and people buy cutco because its awesome, not because they feel bad for you if they don't. I'll have the money from a homemaker to pay for a month of insurance or something but they'll have cutco forever and it will make their lives easier. Cutco isn't about trying to get people to buy something they don't need, its helping them get one of the best investments possible.
@gtvanderwood One of the best investments possible? Cutco is KIA quality with a Lexus markup. If I'm going to pay 40 bucks or more for a knife, it better not be hollow ground stamped 440A steel with plastic handles; it better be ffg 440C or higher steel, preferably with stabilized wood or micarta. Cutco is overpriced mediocrity.
the CRAZY part is that that money is always available- nobody has ever lost their house from buying a homemaker.so stfu; youre just angry that a company is doing well without cheating. take your hate for corporate america out on a company that deserves it.
@kellymaryjanebish Oh my gosh! Are you being serious? LOL This clip is OBVIOUSLY(maybe not to you but...) mocking Cutco sales reps. Michael Scott is known for being guillable. That is why they have his character tell how he used to sell Cutco knives. Im not knocking you (cuz I did Amway/Quixtar for a while) but get a clue!
jw2113 you're clearly retarded. cutco is the shit- it is truly the sharpest set of cutlery in the world, and its not the most expensive! youre literally commenting simply to bitch- not bc you have intelligent things to say!
the problem with cutco is the fact that americans are so fucking competitive and impuslive, that they will buy these thousand-dollar knives without giving it much thought.
@kellymaryjanebish Well, you almost got that one right, eliminate "the" in "Cutco is the shit", and you're on the money. Cutco is nowhere near the sharpest out of the box; Cutco prides itself on being higher quality than Wal-Mart generic brands; but that's kind of like bragging to world class athletes about winning the special olympics. They use cut rate materials and manufacturing processes.
@jw2113 Dark and sick, or realistic? The reason why some people go into prostitution is because they have no where to turn. They made some sort of mistake in the past that has prevented them form opportunity. Who are you to slight someone else because of his want to progress so he can have a better life? What you have to realize is that you make appointments beforehand. If the customer had no interest, there wouldn't be an appointment...I know this, and I haven't even gone through training yet!
If you guys have any questions and want even more special deals on Cutco cutlery items, send me a email at ericdanielphillips@yahoo.com I can send it out to you guys in 2 - 3 days so don't be shy to ask! CUTCO!!!
@gutterpanda try to start you own company with zero experience, and zero revenue.
everyone has to start somewhere. vector take you with zero experience and trains you. yeah they are using me to make money. but i am using them to get ahead in life.
wait wait wait! I work for vector, and though i had a slow fast start because i didnt know anyone in the area, if your really motivated you can make things happen, and you know what I HAVE! coming from one place and moving to another Vector has pushed me to new limits! and the managers here in Fremont do everything to help you achieve your goals I have nothing but positive things for VEctor, Sales is hard and its not for everyone. thats why we make the big bucks!
you think ur a good salesman cuz you can sell knives people are stupid they buy fucking anything selling people shit is fucking easy quit sucking ur own dicks
@jw2113 lol exactly after scheduling your time out and getting your presentation down selling knives is easy. so why are so many people bitching about it being a scam? i sell a product, i get money how is that a scam?
@jw2113 whats up with you? do you think your the last inteligent person on earth?
my customers are usually 30+ i am 18 years old, i am not manipulating anyone. why do you think people who buy new things are stupid? you have never bought anything new because it is a better quality than what you have? its not stupid its getting something better because you want to improve the quality of your life and your not a cheap bum.
@ag7dragonfly dont be stupid everyone your job is not to help the customer get what they want its to sell as much as you can. you do this by understanding the psychology of the customer and manipulating them this is how sales commision sales work. and no i dont think im the last intelligent person on earth.
@jw2113 i hope for your sake that you have never bought a new cell phone. Because if you have any cell phone that came out in the last 5 years, then by your own standards you are a "stupid person who has been manipulated into purchasing something you don't really want or need"
don't insult my integrity because you don't understand basic principles of value vs. price.
PS. the first cell phone you ever had made calls just fine.
@ag7dragonfly i still use the first cell phone i bought it works fine and you dont have any integrity your a salesman you are victimizing people to try to get there money you are scum
@jw2113@jw2113 LOL i am victimizing people because i am selling them something? clearly you need to move to fairy land where everybody holds hands and all work together to help everyone so their is no need for currency. But this is the real world and i got news for you. THE ECONOMY OF THE WORLD IS MAINTAINED BY PEOPLE WHO BUY AND SELL PRODUCTS.
doctors,
lawyers,
and prostitutes, are all salesmen they just sell a different product. that is life grow up.
@ag7dragonfly like i said you think people working together is a fantasy world, therefor you are scum you havnt a poisonous idea of what humanity is and you reflect that on others not everyone is like you but you are scum and doctors im sure theres some douchey doctors but most of them want to help people who are sick not try to convince them to buy something they dont want or need and prostitutes they dont victimize anyone clearly they are the victims you have a dark and sick view of the world
@jw2113 "I havnt a poisonous idea of what humanity is"????? LOL LOL LOL what does that even mean? man i had to check your profile after that one it says your 22, clearly you skipped some high school grammar classes.
OK princess your right, doctors just want to help people, everyone only buys what they absolutely need, only stupid people buy high quality products over cheap unreliable ones, and cutco is the devil. honestly your a waste of my time.
@jw2113 hahaha.... yep..... and if you were smart enough to see how easy it is to sell knives and make great bucks, maybe you would start selling them too; you yourself said how easy selling CUTCO is; so why don't you do it? you didn't get hired?
i like how u guys are fuckin stupid. cutco is helpin me thru college, i have friends who've been working there for years. i know a girl who's made 1000 dollars on her first paycheck. its a great company and cutco has an A+ rating on the BBB website. the training program is used in ivy league universities and solely having vector experience builds your resume to the point where ppl i kno have bypassed 2 years of internship..just cuz yall suck at it doesnt mean it sucks.its a numbers game faggots
People don't buy $992 knife sets because they feel obligated or sympathetic for you. Like people have mentioned before, the knives pretty much sell themselves, but of course the salesman can also make a huge difference.
@mynameismikooo It is not the product that is at question here; if there are people that have that kind of money to buy them, then that is just business. It is their shitty practice in which they make the employees A) Buy from them and B) Bring THEM customers through shady means. Read their letters; they NEVER EVER mention anything about selling knives. For a good reason too.
@HarlequinTeepo That is true. It is not a scam; it is a business. The problem is that prostitution and hired hitman are also businesses, and I personally think working for vector is 3rd after those too on jobs for gutless asses.
IF YOUR MARKETING OR ADVERTISING KILL YOURSELF. higher education and knowledge is supposed to free your mind and thicken your filter, if you care all about the money then i feel sorry for you.
that is so cliche its disgusting. the office rep that i met used similar lines. as if money has any true value, and btw buddy, thats NOTHING. That check will be dry by the end of the week, get a college degree, that would impress me a whole lot more. i made 280 selling half an oz of pot in a day, i made 300 dollars recycling various resources, so the fuck what? it's all but legal tender, and until you realize that what you hold is nothing more than an illusion you are lost
@MorbidMayhem to bad im getting a mechanical engineering degree and this is just my summer job. i made 27k from the company so far so i think u need to sell more pot cuz im about to be wayyy richer and happier den u
First of all, this is just a funny video. I don't know why all of you are so opinionated. It is a job, it isn't like a religion that is taking over the world. If you can find a better job for you then go for it.
I love Cutco knives. I worked for Vector selling them when I was umm....maybe 17. Three words to sum up my thoughts on doing that: 1) WASTE 2) OF 3) TIME
cutco is actually a good enough product itself. but vector is a bad company. they prey on school kids to sell to their family as their sole means of contact making. secondly they have a turn around rate on a high amount of the people that work there, but not after there first ten days or "fast start" incentive to sell as much as possible in that ten days. go through as many people as you can. what happens when you really dont have n e one else to dupe into listening? you leave, and why wouldnt u
or you become a manager because the company pretty much gives anyone an opportunity to prove themselves - lol i love how negative people see only the worst side of everything. i was a manager at 19 years old - what other company allows me to do that? sorry but - i had a great experience and got LOTS of connections through my time there.
YOU were obviously the guy that dropped the class the first day or didnt respond to the ad - sorry =/
What kind of connections did you make? you only got these conection by hounding family and friends for their friends for a no hassle demo, just to hassle them by asking them as well. I also did respond and got told i was going to have to come in right away because there was a select amount of people getting appts and as i sit there i hear a receptionist pull the same line 10 to 12 times in an hour. third day in i left because my manager told me i was to get a check or the money period.fuck cutco
So you suck at sales and you're skeptical about everything - no big deal, you just won't be that successful.
Funny how you can say "fuck cutco" while I can say I made 10 grand in a summer and then went on to make more as a manager. Big difference there don't you think? That's the difference between me and you.
And by the way I had just moved to Dallas and I started out with only a few leads.
I agree it seems pyramid scheme like, but I know it's not because my fiance works with the company.*NOTE* I don't like the company because they call him at all hours of the day, they make him go to the office and do things that he could do at home. They don't pay him for being there. We don't see eachother as often, and he misses school for his job. Granted, he does have summer quarter but still!!(No he is not cheating on me...I've seen him in action and his cutlery.
If you're having to push the knives on people, you're a horrible salesman. It's about comfort. If they aren't comfortable with it, then they don't need to buy it and I as a Cutco rep am not going to force it on them.
And it's not about cutting a penny. We do that to show the strength of the quality product you might be buying, because people like my parents use the shears for everything, including cutting through that annoying plastic electronic equipment comes in and small fruit tree branches.
yeah maybe i do, but your the asshole thats pushing fucking knives on people that dont really need or want them. how many of your family members thruely need to slice a penny. at least people that come to wendys want the shit they serve.
Just sold 4305 in an hour and a half. Made $775.5. someone call the BBB, i think this scam over payed me!!! \(*o*)/ . BTW if you believe what other people think then good look at life. let me know how that goes for you!

jw2113 1 year ago
@jw2113 @jw2113 LOL i am victimizing people because i am selling them something? clearly you need to move to fairy land where everybody holds hands and all work together to help everyone so their is no need for currency. But this is the real world and i got news for you. THE ECONOMY OF THE WORLD IS MAINTAINED BY PEOPLE WHO BUY AND SELL PRODUCTS.
doctors,
lawyers,
and prostitutes, are all salesmen they just sell a different product. that is life grow up.
ag7dragonfly 1 year ago
@ag7dragonfly like i said you think people working together is a fantasy world, therefor you are scum you havnt a poisonous idea of what humanity is and you reflect that on others not everyone is like you but you are scum and doctors im sure theres some douchey doctors but most of them want to help people who are sick not try to convince them to buy something they dont want or need and prostitutes they dont victimize anyone clearly they are the victims you have a dark and sick view of the world
jw2113 1 year ago
@jw2113 "I havnt a poisonous idea of what humanity is"????? LOL LOL LOL what does that even mean? man i had to check your profile after that one it says your 22, clearly you skipped some high school grammar classes.
OK princess your right, doctors just want to help people, everyone only buys what they absolutely need, only stupid people buy high quality products over cheap unreliable ones, and cutco is the devil. honestly your a waste of my time.
ag7dragonfly 1 year ago
@jw2113 hahaha.... yep..... and if you were smart enough to see how easy it is to sell knives and make great bucks, maybe you would start selling them too; you yourself said how easy selling CUTCO is; so why don't you do it? you didn't get hired?
FadoDeo4444 1 year ago
@FadoDeo4444 no because im not a greedy pig who wants to expolit stupid people to make a few bucks the rich and greedy are the scum of the earth
jw2113 1 year ago
i like how u guys are fuckin stupid. cutco is helpin me thru college, i have friends who've been working there for years. i know a girl who's made 1000 dollars on her first paycheck. its a great company and cutco has an A+ rating on the BBB website. the training program is used in ivy league universities and solely having vector experience builds your resume to the point where ppl i kno have bypassed 2 years of internship..just cuz yall suck at it doesnt mean it sucks.its a numbers game faggots
mikebarros6 2 years ago
how much did they pay u to type all that out? LMAO!

@BasketballStud99 lol i dont even work there anymore i was just quoting every line they used on me

People don't buy $992 knife sets because they feel obligated or sympathetic for you. Like people have mentioned before, the knives pretty much sell themselves, but of course the salesman can also make a huge difference.
mynameismikooo 2 years ago 35
@mynameismikooo the 20 60 20 rule.
20% will buy cutco, not based on the presentation
60% will buy cutco, based on the presentation
20% will not buy butco
Coolaid4507 1 year ago
@mynameismikooo It is not the product that is at question here; if there are people that have that kind of money to buy them, then that is just business. It is their shitty practice in which they make the employees A) Buy from them and B) Bring THEM customers through shady means. Read their letters; they NEVER EVER mention anything about selling knives. For a good reason too.

vector's getting me through college, and my family loves what i sold them. if they're evil, who cares? nice paycheck... sorry everybody!
HarlequinTeepo 2 years ago 29
@HarlequinTeepo That is true. It is not a scam; it is a business. The problem is that prostitution and hired hitman are also businesses, and I personally think working for vector is 3rd after those too on jobs for gutless asses.

IF YOUR MARKETING OR ADVERTISING KILL YOURSELF. higher education and knowledge is supposed to free your mind and thicken your filter, if you care all about the money then i feel sorry for you.

@MorbidMayhem i feel sorry for my $1207 paycheck last WEEK

@fdb808king
that is so cliche its disgusting. the office rep that i met used similar lines. as if money has any true value, and btw buddy, thats NOTHING.
MorbidMayhem 7 months ago
@MorbidMayhem to bad im getting a mechanical engineering degree and this is just my summer job. i made 27k from the company so far so i think u need to sell more pot cuz im about to be wayyy richer and happier den u

First of all, this is just a funny video. I don't know why all of you are so opinionated. It is a job, it isn't like a religion that is taking over the world. If you can find a better job for you then go for it.

marketing is worse than religion in my opinion haha

I love Cutco knives. I worked for Vector selling them when I was umm....maybe 17. Three words to sum up my thoughts on doing that: 1) WASTE 2) OF 3) TIME

CUTCO! FUCK YEAH!
ASDFGHJKLWTF 2 years ago 3
Vector can kiss my ass. Michael is hilarious though.
Evidentz07 2 years ago
cutco is actually a good enough product itself. but vector is a bad company. they prey on school kids to sell to their family as their sole means of contact making. secondly they have a turn around rate on a high amount of the people that work there, but not after there first ten days or "fast start" incentive to sell as much as possible in that ten days. go through as many people as you can. what happens when you really dont have n e one else to dupe into listening? you leave, and why wouldnt u
jstnjns8927 2 years ago 2
or you become a manager because the company pretty much gives anyone an opportunity to prove themselves - lol i love how negative people see only the worst side of everything. i was a manager at 19 years old - what other company allows me to do that? sorry but - i had a great experience and got LOTS of connections through my time there.
YOU were obviously the guy that dropped the class the first day or didnt respond to the ad - sorry =/
speero 2 years ago
What kind of connections did you make? you only got these conection by hounding family and friends for their friends for a no hassle demo, just to hassle them by asking them as well. I also did respond and got told i was going to have to come in right away because there was a select amount of people getting appts and as i sit there i hear a receptionist pull the same line 10 to 12 times in an hour. third day in i left because my manager told me i was to get a check or the money period.fuck cutco
jstnjns8927 2 years ago
So you suck at sales and you're skeptical about everything - no big deal, you just won't be that successful.
Funny how you can say "fuck cutco" while I can say I made 10 grand in a summer and then went on to make more as a manager. Big difference there don't you think? That's the difference between me and you.
And by the way I had just moved to Dallas and I started out with only a few leads.
speero 2 years ago
AND by the way I'm 21 - I was 19 at the time I started.
speero 2 years ago
lol wheres the proof that u made 10 grand in a summer?
BasketballStud99 2 years ago
@BasketballStud99 wouldn't be the first person.
FadoDeo4444 1 year ago
Agreed. Just by attending their interview you know Cutco/Vector Marketing is a sketchy company.
BasketballStud99 2 years ago
@BasketballStud99 I have to disagree. Experiences will obviously vary by office, but my interview was conducted very professionally.

jstnjns8927-
I agree it seems pyramid scheme like, but I know it's not because my fiance works with the company.*NOTE* I don't like the company because they call him at all hours of the day, they make him go to the office and do things that he could do at home. They don't pay him for being there. We don't see eachother as often, and he misses school for his job. Granted, he does have summer quarter but still!!(No he is not cheating on me...I've seen him in action and his cutlery.
Mermaids206 2 years ago
If you're having to push the knives on people, you're a horrible salesman. It's about comfort. If they aren't comfortable with it, then they don't need to buy it and I as a Cutco rep am not going to force it on them.
And it's not about cutting a penny. We do that to show the strength of the quality product you might be buying, because people like my parents use the shears for everything, including cutting through that annoying plastic electronic equipment comes in and small fruit tree branches.
bigphatooglyguy 2 years ago
I work for vector.
the shears thing is true. we cut pennies as part of the demo.

i'd like to see a video of that

your apart of a pyramid scheme.
jstnjns8927 2 years ago
they wouldn be part of the BBB and have an A+ rating if it was a pyramid scheme...if ur a weak salesman ur not gonna make money..plain the simple
drummerkam 2 years ago
Yeah and either would amway right. your apart of a pyramid scheme fucking cult like, satanically ran company. get out now!
jstnjns8927 2 years ago
your ignorant if you think your college, unschooled, "salesman skills" brain has anything to do with your sales rate.
people buy from you because they feel obligated, and the product is a good quality. Not because your a good salesman, dont flatter yourself.
Anyone elses office claim to be in the top 5 in the northeast? or there region and have a shitload of trophys lying around.
ColdHearted 2 years ago
a pyramid scheme? You're an idiot who probably works at somewhere like Wendys.
mhawkes1 2 years ago
yeah maybe i do, but your the asshole thats pushing fucking knives on people that dont really need or want them. how many of your family members thruely need to slice a penny. at least people that come to wendys want the shit they serve.
jstnjns8927 2 years ago
And we asshole(in your terms) sell knives and make more money in one demo than you do in a week.
Secondly, if they didn't want the knives, they wouldn't have purchased them.
Lastly, just because slicing a penny equates to be a huge part of your income....don't bitch at us.

lmao how did you tie together pyramid scheme and cult? first day of middle school starting tomorrow?
