All the people that Ernie is naming are the people who are on Sesame Street.
Olivia is a photographer who left Sesame Street in 1988, Gordon (Olivia's brother) is a science teacher, Maria worked first at a fixing shop, then a mailing shop, and now a fixing shop again along with her husband Luis where they called the shops "Fix-It Shop" and "Mail-It Shop", and David was an assitant to Mr. Hooper at Hooper's Store, then became the owner of the store, and he passed away in the year 1990.
When I first saw this, Ernie imagined Mr. Hooper carrying the soup cans. I'm guessing that Jim Henson dubbed over that line following Will Lee's death.
Thanks for posting this sawing14s Ernie & Bert were my second favorite characters on Sesame Street next to Cookie Monster. Ernie did drive Bert crazy but they were always best friends. Do you know if the E&B sketch where Ernie goes to put his toys away and ends up putting his firetruck away only is on youtube?
heh I sympathize with Ernie I does hate night T-storms or real early morning ones Its like ZAP BOOM & it wakes you up & yer freakin' out like the whole world is coming down on you LOL
Yeah I'm afraid of thunder storms too because I can't sleep at night when I was 3. anyway Really funny I love Ernie and Bert you know bert like Ernie says staying up all night is better then sleep!
It's funny, I don't remember this one! Okay, NOW, does anyone have the skit where Ernie is preparing to take a bath, and he brings an umbrella, flashlight, and bert's bowling ball into the bathroom, and Bert's like "what the heck, Ernie what do you need those for?" and of course Ernie ends up using all 3, because first it starts raining in the bathroom, then the power goes out, and then some random muppet wants bert's bowling ball! Does anyone have that skit???
You notice how in this clip, the lightning flashes BEFORE the thunder is heard, like in real life. Other times the thunder crashes the moment the lightning is seen, particularly when it involves Count von Count.
Yeah, I noticed that. A nice touch of realism there, most fictional storms have them at the same time. Of course if the storm was right there about you then you would hear the thunder at the same time as the lightning.
Thunderstorms were overly common in Michigan where I'm originally from. Now I live in Vegas and they're not as common. One recently just had one big boom of thunder that woke me in the middle of the night thinking a plane crashed near McCarran.
Whenever there's a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, I just burry myself and my head under the blankets and cover my eyes, because I try to avoid seeing flashes through the window. It can be scary seeing flashes before the thunder.
I agree, don't you just wanna go and crawl into a comfy little bed and curl up with a good book after watching this? Their beds look so comforatable.....
Does anyone has the episode where the Count sleeps over at Ernie and Bert's place? Ernie gets scared of the lightning after Count finishes counting. Next skit Bert sleeps in the other room and Ernie sleep walks saying 93,900.... at the end he falls down.
Just that one instance, but he didn't have any trouble with the Count's storms in the one where the Count counts Ernie's blocks, or when Ernie was hired to answer the Count's phone!
That's what I like to think of when storms come. The Count is counting somewhere! It also amuses me to see how high I can count before the next flash/boom. = )
I think they're friends. I've always thought they were brothers, but in another skit Ernie tells us that Bert's off visiting "his brother." So, yeah, they're friends.
Yes, Ernie and Bert are friends. I also thought they were brothers until I heard in one skit Ernie saying to Bert "You're My Friend." Also, I heard Bert thanking Ernie in another skit saying "My Buddy." Also, Bert does have a twin brother. His name is "Bart." Bart was seen in one skit where he was coming over to Ernie and Bert's apartment to visit, and Bert told Ernie to wait and listen for the door. Ernie asked Bert what Bart looks like, and Bert told Ernie that he and Bart are look alike
I hate night storms and they always freak me out. I live here in Texas where we can have storms that wake you from a dead sleep and turn your heart on 4F. I can relate with Ernie.. I've never been able to sleep through a bad storm.
Hey, Sawing, how are you restoring them? I can understand you having the sketch in another language, but where are you getting the audio from? Was this on a record or something?
ROFL! Nice imagination Ernie!

How could Ernie be afraid of a thunderstorm when he was so blase about the one on the beach when he brought an umbrella?

what do you mean? Is there a video somewhere on here about that?

And he didn't have any panic attacks whenever he was with the Count and he'd summon thunder.
