Sorry guys, I bought this yesterday, and what a load of crap. Almost impossible to play any midi instruments due to the resonance on the strings. My worst spent 179 dollars ever...
@slmnv5 Depends what you want to achieve. If you want to play lead lines, that have musicality, the i2M is the only choice! If you want to lay out some chords, the yourockguitar might be a better option.
This is great! If they can do this, then they need to next make an inexpensive polyphonic version that works with any Roland GK-3 pickup. How about it?
The i2M has no hardware "thru" connection. To connect to your amp, you can run it to the amp first, then to the i2M. Or use a "Y" cable to split the signal to the amp and the i2M (the i2M won't affect the guitar signal).
If you use software amp simulators, the i2M gives an audio signal (a software thru) so you can have your amp sound and MIDI at the same time (this is what is done in this video).
haha great, I may get the g2m, but at 1:51 I hear you have never used a lead synth before ;) I'm thinking of taking one of these apart, adding an off switch instead of a jack in, and mounting it inside a project guitar... this looks like a more expensive g2m but no MIDI port. what is the battery life of the g2m, anyone who has one?
A grand improvement over the G2M and B2M in every way! It's more compact, it's bus powered, it's not instrument specific, it's a sound interface, it looks cool…I'm loving it!
Nice posh Edinburgh accent you got.
Where did the drum part come from?
JohnSAitken 2 weeks ago
@JohnSAitken Glasgow, not Edinburgh :-)
I'm not sure what Dimi used for the drums.

@sonuusMusic Don't sound one bit like Billy Connolly's pain in the but posh accent to me. Well never mind. Thank for the response.

Very, very cool. Needs to be polyphonic before I'd buy it. Get to work!

@sonuusMusic yourockguitar does not have strings on fretboard so it will feel weird for guitarist....i bought i2m
nitinlkoin1984 8 months ago
@slmnv5 And also depends if you want to add some midi features to a REAL guitar (sonuus i2m) or you want to play a plastic console game guitar.

With this, do you run you guitar to you amp then to the i2M? Or the guitar straight to the i2M?
SmallTimeHalo 1 year ago
@SmallTimeHalo Guitar straight to the i2M
diminalbantov 11 months ago
MIDI will only convert one note at a time. If you play a chord, it will try to choose the root (or most dominant) note.
Obviously, you can play chords using the audio input (as in the video).

can I play chord on this,or just single note?

Looks fantastic!
Will this be a replacement for the G2M or a whole different product?
Can you plug a mic into it also like the G2M?
Thanks
generatemusic 1 year ago
The i2M musicport is USB bus powered so different from the G2M.
Yes you can plug a MIC into it. Actually the video voice over was done using the i2M musicport!
