Between 1:50 and 2:00 she inadvertently explains why there are so many butterflies. It's because caterpillars "got 24 legs and they know how to shag."
Love watching this over and over. Brenda Lee had a special quality and uniqueness that noone else could ever capture. That's probably why some consider her the 'Queen of Rock'.
Queen and King of Rock n' roll? Granted, rockabilly had Hank Williams, the original Jimmy Rodgers thereabouts, Carl Perkins and, as well, Elvis Presley. In the UK there was skiffle. Not known to many Americans, evidently. Somewhat of a parallel, one could think. With the likes of Jimmy Page, Robin Trower, Roger Daltry, Van Morrison, Ritchie Blackmore, Mick Jagger, David Gilmore, Graham Nash & John Lennon. Does that mean they're any the less when it comes to rock n' roll?
The Queen of Rock n Roll shows them how it is done . Dinah and Brenda both had great rhythm. Brenda dancing and singing rockabilly. it does not get any better.
@mrgbennet MS Lee is certainly talented, but was way more country than rock...I'd think Tina Turner or someone of that nature would qualify better than MS Lee for such a title.
Correct! Brenda would turn 12 on December 11, 1956. Decca simply lied about her age to make her seem even more amazing (not necessary at all) when they put "9 Years Old" on her first two records (both in 1956).
Also, Dinah Shore keeps babbling on about her home state, Tennessee, for some reason. Ozark Jubilee was out of Springfield, Missouri. Brenda moved there from Georgia to be on the show. Today, of course, Brenda Lee is a long time Nashville resident, but not then. Dinah perhaps was totally freaked out by her talent.

Might be difficult since REAL talent rarely exists these days. Perry, Gisele, Dinah and the rest have left us!

That was too cute!! Imagine people being entertained by something so innocent! Even the hosts are respectable and wonderfully attired. What class!!

i love the curtsey at the end - where you gonna find that kind of respect today?

You'd have to look real hard!!!!! There doesn't seem to be much respect in the world now!!!!!

Today's 'artists' (and I use that term very loosely) give their audiences obscene hand jestures instead!
