Malinga slowed down in International cricket in order to control line and length. This applies to fidel Edwards also. Both of them can bowl much quicker but may struggle to get correct line. Also they dont want to get injured. Forget Tait he is a chucker pure and simple.

It's not exactly horizontal Flower, otherwise at that pace, every ball would be a searing full toss angled outside of off stump. Regardless of how "slingy" a bowler is, the ultimate goal of a bowler is to bounce the ball which, can only be done at high pace if the ball is thrown downward. If you notice the deliveries both Malinga and Tait bowl, the seam is diagonal, not horizontal.

the best slinger of all time was thommo by a long way. malinga is more accurate than tait but tait has the pace. i have a slinging round arm action and i can outswing a tennis ball due to it but learning to get the ball to swing back in is very hard indeed.

Shaun Tait is such an awesome bowler. I have never seen ANY bowler get SO much pace without bending the back backwards. He comes in and purely uses his shoulder and chest to launch that shit into the batsman's pads and/or stumps! One of my idols for sure!
