  • poor bear. that was mean.

  • shit I mean dog is like :

  • holy shit that bear is like DIE MOTHA FUCKA

  • What type of dog do you have?

  • @AxeMurderGirl I think Bud is a griffin...but since he came from a shelter it's hard to say one way or another...

  • Hey i know this may be a silly question but aren't you a little afraid that the bear might hurt your dog? Haha i know i wouldn't have the guts to send my dog after a bear but thats just me.

  • what ended up happening?

  • @Amidat, about ten minutes later our dog came running back to the house...the bear probably climbed a tree. We hang the feeder up in those trees behind where the feeder used to be, knowing that leaving easy food for bears isn't good to do. They come snooping around every once in awhile though...

  • @DharmaBum333 cool! what breed of dog do you have?

  • that dog is awesome

  • i agree the dogs chaseing the bears away are gr8 for u and the bears. the bears stay away from ppl and the ppl dnt get hurt by a wondering bear. its good for bears to be scared of ppl because thats what keeps them safe aswell

  • haha your dog has no fear; perfect way to get rid of the bears safely!

  • I be scared to tell ya the truth living that close to the woods with bears what if i seating on my chair reading paper when i look at bear is couple feet form me what do i do.

  • That is why dogs are mans best friend

  • No wonder there are bears around. YOU live in THEIR environment. So no reason telling the bear to get lost.

  • I agree, and thank you for your comment...we do not take great pleasure in chasing bears...we love the bears. We bring the bird feeders in every night. When they begin showing up in the afternoon we have the dogs chase them away...and they stop visiting. If they continue to visit during the day we pull the feeders altogether.

  • Why is it THEIR environment exclusively and not also ours/his?

  • People building houses everywhere so another piece of nature disappears and animals have less space to live and get in contact with human beeing who on their turn start complaining there's a bear in the backyard.

  • @motorbreath1983

What do you mean "their" environment? How is that area any less ours then theirs? Humans need places to live too

  • @Andothul Read my comment from 6 months ago.

  • @Andothul Because Bears have been living their for thousands of years, man bulldozed his way into the area couple hundred years ago & took to cutting back the habitat of the animals as humans have done al over the World. Man can adapt to virtually any environmental condition in the World and is pretty much the only species that inhabits every continent on the Globe; bears do not do this, they adapt to the region they live in. Man chose to live on the Bear's doorstep, not the other way around.

  • @kpsuk Maybe you should brush up on your history humans have been in America since atleast 60,000 bc they crossed the land bridge in alaska. Even saying that this arguement of "they were here first" does not fly because animals encroach on other species territories all the time. Wolves don't tolerate bears, lions don't tolerate hyenas etc etc.

  • @Andothul My history's fine thanks. There's a vast difference between the native people who co-inhabited North America with the animals there for thousands of years and the people who bulldozed there way through a couple of hundred years ago affecting the habitat for animals (along with the people who were there before them also).

This is not exclusive to Nth America, it has stretched across all continents, with the Animals in Africa, to Asia & Europe

  • No, the bears around here are afraid of dogs, so they run away as fast as possible....if we let our dog chase a bear, they usually stay away for a week or two. We don't want them to hurt the bear...

  • did your dog get injured ?

  • badass

  • It's odd, but the dog will chase bears...bears are skittish around dogs...it must be something in their genetic code. I will give Bud some treats for sure...thanks for the comment (hope to make it to NZ next year).

  • what a badass little dog!!!! theres no bears here in NZ so i wouldnt really know but i MIGHT let my dog go after a bear if it was like a big fuckin rottie or bull mastiff or sumthin with some balls but apparently your little dog has pleanty of balls to take on a bear, give him some extra dog sausage for me :-P

  • wow...what kind of dog is that? Scottie?
