thanks for your great tutorial ,but i have a question ,in the rulebok it says "whenever players reach a cumulative number of sucesses equal to their number remove one doom token and reset the cumulative sucesses number" what happens if in a 3 player game one player scores 6 sucesses at once ? would there be only one doom token removed ?
@alexandereno No, you would remove 2 doom tokens in that case. You just reset the number that's needed (in that case 3) each time a doom token is removed. And successes do carry over from player to player... So for example, with 3p: Player 1 gets 4 successes = remove 1 doom token, 1 success carries over. Player 2 gets 1 success (+1 that carried over) = (2 successes). Player 3 gets 2 successes (+2 that carried over) = remove 1 doom token (1 success carries over to the next turn).
@alexandereno It may be more helpful to think of the number of successes needed total, instead of the doom tokens. So for example, if there are 3 players and the Ancient One has 11 doom tokens, you will need 33 successes in order to win. It doesn't matter who gets them or in what order... but if the investigators manage to get 33 total successes during the Final Battle, then you win.
Could the investigators have spent clues to get extra rolls to saves their items? Great Videos by the way, my friends and I were looking at picking up a game of this type, and your videos sold it for me.
@WaysideWolf Strictly speaking, clue tokens can only be spent to add additional rolls for skill checks. This is not a skill check, but a special roll. I may be wrong about that, but that's my understanding.
@greiver179 Yes, any time you attempt a spell you must first pay the Sanity cost, whether you succeed or not. I forgot to pay that in the tutorial, apparently.
That ancient one, azatoth (spelling?) is the "king" of all the outer gods (the most powerful of the ancient ones). He existed before the universe was formed. That might explain why you dont even get the chance to fight him if he awakens :)
@Soulless99 he is also a blind idiot, creating and destroying randomly and chaotically to the beat of pounding drums. If he came to Arkham he would probably of killed the investigators without even knowing he did it, kind of funny when you think about it.

Can you use items during the Ancient One's attack phase?

@paolodwapo If you mean during Final Battle, then yes, if applicable. And usually you must to have any chance of winning.

Does the final battle count as one battle? so spells that last for an entire battle would stay on?
Nionivek 7 months ago
@Nionivek No, each spell can be used for one round of combat during Final Battle, then it's exhausted and can be refreshed during the Upkeep.

8:30 even though she failed does she still have to pay the sanity cost?

One of the Ancient Ones is so destructive that all players lose when it awakens.
