I agree, an incredible album, breakdown dead ahead, look what you've done to me, etc were all extraordinary tracks even for a then 14 African American boy. My family bumped this shit like we bumped Natalie Cole!
@hotrodindalou I was exactly the same age in 1980, being a white kid growing up in a mixed-race neighborhood in the south of Brazil, getting exposed to all of these great R&B, soul and so much more. It was all over the radio, but Boz Scaggs didn't particularly get much airplay, so everytime I heard it, I was like wow!
what an album i love this track .written by boz with david foster and david lasley. lasley is backing singer with james taylor. also on track is ray parker jr and steve lukather guitar.jeff porcaro drums and david hungate bass .foster plays key boards ,and sax solo by adrian tapia.funky and smooth
@MrTonedeff i got the bass player on this jam wrong it,s john pierce not dave hungate! hungate plays on all tracks except this and do like you do in new york! sorry i,ll get it right one day!!
@uzipolo yes this is music for the discerning listener made in 1980 and still sounding as good. just look whats around now and there,s no comparison! toto on board with boz in many groupings starting in 76' on his silk degrees album with paich, hungate and jeff porcaro as the rhythm section along with fred tackett, louie shelton and les dudek and they are just the guitarists .so many other players of quality on that album!
@StevesWifeCharlo are you charlotte crossley ? if you are you must have some great stories about the making of this album with all the great musicians and singers on board! steve lukather is doing his own book about his career workiing with boz and all the toto stuff maybe you should honey!!!
