I agree about the geometry! I had to get rid of my suspension seat post and get a saddle with long rails (Brooks saddle w/ springs) in order to get the seat into proper position - the seat tube angle isn't right.
They say this bike is for touring and I hate to bash it but it's really just a mountain bike with braze ons for racks. I had to rig so much to work around design flaws. I use it for touring and I like it but I wish I had the option of buying a real touring bike w/ 26" wheels.
I bought 2 of these bikes for a ride that I did with my son from LA to Mexico City and the only complaint that I have is the handle bars are not made for long trips, the angle of your elbows in any position makes them very tire , we rode 1500 miles but the rest of the bike hold extremelly well.
wow, REI has tv commercials? We have two REIs in Pittsburgh ... I would love to see a bike commercial on TV. Of course, 'round here, it would have to have a beverage holder for your can of Iron (City Beer, that is).
