Does anybody know what the funky Spyro Gyra song is that includes the words 'Carnival Woman'? I'd have thought that was the title but it seems not. Cheers.
@heckto35 Thanks. Yeah I know - 'Carnaval' is not the song I'm looking for. It's weird because the Carnival Woman is totally amazing! Just can't believe I can't find it or find out what the title is!
Little did I know when I loved this back then that it was the sound of Brasil! Only since signing on here have I understood the Brasilian influence on world music, perhaps greater than the British Invasion of the 60s. Added this to 1981's playlist one of 111 lists for the music of every year since 1900 on my channel. Of course there's a SG list too. I've made 330 playlists of the best artists on earth as well! Chuck
This and several other Spyro Gyra songs were used as background on many local television programs in the Cleveland Ohio TV market in the seventies and eighties.
I first heard this in 1982 when it was used for a program called MORNING LINE.
A local talk show on local issues. I called
the station and they told me it was Summer Strut on the album Freetime from Spyro Gyra. I instantly started buying more albums. This is my favorite one.
One of my favourite Spyro Gyro tunes.........thanks for posting.

I agree, tight, I wish they could be promoted on the stations today, we all need a breath of fresh air to live by to lift our soul.
