  • im subscribing...because you're hilarous (plus, my livejournal comm recommended you~) :))

i never noticed the similarity~ ^^ haha!! nice one.

  • All I gotta say is and I hope boa is reading this when u come to the US music scene Boa better come correct. no half assing here and hook up with the best in the US if u want to be great. like Timbaland, JT, Jazzy Pha, the Neptunes, someone well known and hot with the beats.

  • ALSO, lmao I did notice the whole "What About Us" similarity not too long ago as well so it was like 'hey yeah they're extremely similar'. But I don't notice however, it's similar to bad... that I don't get.

  • Eh i didnt even think about brandys song. tbh tho its not the artists faults really. they have ppl that make their songs, and from what i hear the ppl that did toxic for britney did this one for boa so dont blame her. and i absolutly LOVE eat you up anyways so. but i so also agree the korean ver of the video is better.. the us ver looks so cheap and dumb -o- kinda like what they spent on utadas us album. ooo~ lol i loved ur vdo tho, how do u feel about se7en and bi trying to make it over here?

  • Love it! I agree about the mixed feelings thing and the "my Boa" thing. lol.

    "That's Koda Kumi's job!"

    Best.Line.Ever.

  • XD, "even that guy's BoA" and "that's Koda Kumi's job!"(she has better thighs for it too).

The Korean version is cool, but the US version is what these people will 'Eat Up'.

  • this is brilliant! im subscribing you...

  • i just subscribed you...

  • lol this vlog was quite hilarious.. thanks :P

  • I thought I was the only one who thought 'she's not gonna be my Boa anymore'. I love your comments btw.

  • She started in South Korea when she was 14.

  • yup.....but i think she was actually recruited into SM wen she was 10 yrs old. they trained her, made her learn japanese etc, and made her first live appearance wen she was 14. i might be wrong, but i think that's approx.

  • o0 BoA is awesome... rip off? wtf...... the korean version is better... american version sucks.

  • That's funny!! haha

Go BoA!! One day you'll Success in the US!

    I can tell that T_T‖~~

  • LOL this was pretty funny ^_^

    totally entertained me haha

I pretty much agree with everything you said haha

  • yeah I like the Korean version much better than the US one, I didnt think it sounded likes some other song, but I've never heard those two songs that you mentioned in this vid, think i'll check them out.

  • I'm buying it the day it comes out! Boa is AMAZING! She's one of my top 5 favorite singers ever! I kinda wish the song was more original, but it's still pretty catchy. :)

  • Wow, when you're saying the names of Asian singers, I barely understood what you were saying... it sounds so extremly American! Haha

  • Hey leave my whiteness alone! I generally pronounce everything in an American way because I expect that most of my audience is American/Canadian/English, me being an English speaker and all. I can pronounce things properly, which I do when I'm actually talking to Asian person. Haha, they don't know what I'm saying otherwise! You should've seen me ask for a Dong Bang Shin Ki CD at a Korean store... haha... hilarious.

  • Sorry, didn't mean to hurt your feelings! I'm just not used to hearing names from different countries pronounced in their language... I'm sorry!!

Haha I can imagine! Rock on x

  • hahaha your so funny. and i agree with everythin you said. but how did you get into boa and asian music?

  • That is a loooong and complicated question for me. May have to do a whole video about that. It was an interesting, decade-long journey....

  • hahaha i think you shoulddd.

its actually quite amazing how americans can know asian artists. its greattt =]

  • Actually, Utada did not get much promotion which was probably a big factor to her lack of success in the US. Dunno..maybe her record company didn't like it so much.

I didn't realise the simiarities to the Brandy song until you told me though! XD Although I don't think that any artist/song is completely original. I also want to watch the full versions of both videos before I really judge them though.

But it's good that you are a BoA fan and yet you can still criticise. :)

  • Dude, I have to force myself to get real on BoA. For the most part I just dance around in BoA-worshipping-bliss and talk about the girl like she farts rainbows. But we have to criticize her otherwise she won't evolve as an artist, and she's the type who will always try to be better and better at what she does.

  • Agreed. If she is sensible, she will listen to and consider criticism in order to improve. While I don't like it when people mindlessly bash musicians, that does not mean that it's right to blindly worship them either.

  • Wow I love your attitude. Hahah yeah I agree with you, because there's no point in blind celebrity worship. BoA really takes such criticisms seriously, and at least tries her best to do something at it. Thats why I love her hardworking personality. Go BoA!! I will so definitely buy her single. :))

  • I agree too, this song feels unoriginal. Her U.S debut song doesn't seem it represents BoA's true music and sounds as a kpop/jpop artist. It seems like they made her or she had to try to make her music fit in with american artists. Because of the language barrier she not has to work harder singing in a song thats not her first language. I hope she can bring on the kind of music she usually does in asia...Lets all wish her the best!...

  • nice video, i grew up with her too since we were both 14 (or 15?) at the amazing kiss era. then i totally fell in love with her up til now. and i do agree on ur points on the song. it has too much shadow on sumone elses songs, but hey, after hearing it for a few time it gets pretty catchy isn't it? ~~ i'll eat you upppp~ lol

  • "I knew BoA!"

OMG I laffed so much in his videoooo!!!!!

Are you a member at the BoAJJang Forum?

  • Yes, yes I am, under the name SakuraShy. I used to be active under the name LinzerDinzer for years upon years. BoA has been my girl since we were both 16. (We're the same age) I feel like I grew up with her and BoAjjang.

  • omg you are so cool.

  • I know, right?

  • There is no perfect artist in the world. hmm....I just wish much for BoA

  • I dunno, the song definitely has its faults, but im sure they'll be better ones, i think look whos talking sounded alot better, I just dont agree with the Korean/US Version of the song, korean one was definitely better, o well jsut gotta waite and see

  • rofl..this vid is really funny..and i agree with it 100%..

there's this US version Korean version war thing going on..but all we can do is to wait and see...

and that " My BoA, Your BoA, BoA's own BoA" is just hilarious..=P

  • Dinz, have I said lately how much I love you?

    You're awesome :D *hugs*

  • No, you should say it EVERY DAY! I have a fractured self esteem. :(

  • Omgggg. It's just like when people hear a song on the radio and they're like:

"I LOVE THIS SONG/ARTIST" and you're sitting there like I've known about them for years .__."

Blah, it's so complicating, but it' still exciting. :D

  • Yeah I'm gonna be one of those elitist jerks.

  • lol

i knew who she was first

lol i know exactly how u feel

  • hahahaha! This is so funny b/c I was just listening to that Brady song last night! :O And um... it *is* similar. @_@ But maybe um... that's a good thing? I mean, after all, how many ppl rmr that Brady song? ^^; Oh I'm SO worried about BoA. T_T

  • i definetly gonna buy it!!!!!

  • good! buy it! and tell ur friends to buy it!

  • i love ur creativity

i cant wait to hear the whole song and single to be out for me to be able to get my hands on it....^^

  • ehh im already bored of the song, but i am excited to see the whole PVs and hear more American BoA songs.

  • haha, you're hilarious..nice job. I dont think the song is a rip off at all, sure the beat isn't original but I dont think they specifically went after those songs you showed.

Also, Utada Hikaru didn't promote her CD Exodus. She didn't want to go mainstream, she was experimenting and showing her true colors. Def Jam loved her for doing that (she writes all the lyrics and does the music arrangements) Hikki is releasing a new CD sometime in the next six months...her REAL debut!

  • Is there a good forum or site to keep up with Utada's next American project?

  • Okay, I commented to quickly. You're just hilarious hahaha.

Koda Kumi is not my type so that punch was great :) And yes, I'm happy nothing much rhymes with (South) Korean... Utada had some great songs, she just chose the wrongs ones to promote...

I have a good feeling about BoA, Se7en, Min, and J.Lim (if she's still coming) and their debut to the U.S.

  • I don't see the MJ in it...

  • Well the progression of the verse melody is the same, just at a different pitch. The moment I heard the song I immediately thought of Jam, which is what inspired me to make this video.
