Also, I really like Kenji Kawai's Opening and Ending themes for this movie. They are masterpieces in my opinion. My friend and I think they should make an MMO wargame out of Avalon. I'd soooo play it. Maybe even quit NavyFIELD... o_____0

What a great movie. Saw it at the Melbourne film festival many moons ago and they left out the subtitles in error so everyone got a refund. lol.

The Hungarian HBO dub was very good, I had it on VHS. It's quite an achievment, if we know that the script which was translated from Jap to PL and then to English, and maybe the Hungarian was done after these conversions.

I must admit I absolutely adore this movie. It's breathtakingly beautiful! There is just one thing that bothers me - the subtitles. Are they the official version or some fan-made stuff? Beacuse they are kinda poor. I mean, in the conversation between Ash and Murphy, not even one sentence was translated properly - the meaning was basicly the same, but in general... way too different.

Well... Since the screenplay was written in Japanese, my guess is that the subtitles are a translation of the original scenario. So in the end it might be possible the subtitles are more faithful to screenwriter's vision than the actual conversations between characters. It's just a guess, though. I could be wrong.
