  • Sounds like the preheat is a piece of crap or something. IDK I don't know much about flouresents.

    Thier was this floresent light in my school that would blink like crazy. It was like a strobe light.

  • I have a desk lamp at work, about 3 years old. Same bulb and possibly same ballast. Does the same thing upon startup.

  • Apart from the fact that this is a ballest type light, and not one of the new ones that doesn't flicker, it's not a bad light, it looks quite compact, just how new is that lamp?

  • It is a few years old. Since it is in a south-facing room, the outside plastic of its casing has already started to yellow due to sunlight exposure. But you can still buy this same model of lamp brand new today.
