Apparently the forced food stuffing also appeared in an Andy Panda toon (Apple Andy) & a Gumby episode (Grub Grabber Andy). Good article on this at WikiP interesting stuff : the left knee birthmark appears at :52 and vanishes at 1:01, or the ear birthmark changes sides.
I don't think this was colorized. It's Technicolor the richest color there was. And if it was colorized it was a remarkably detailed job. The palette here is totally beautiful and I believe Miyazaki was very influenced by it.

Instead of terrifying her and sabotaging her mind like that-which will probably lead to even worse eating habits down the road- you should use positive encouragement to help her to exercise and eat better.
What happens if she thinks the cartoon is funny? The little piggy featured seems to have learned exactly nothing and keeps stuffing himself after blowing up already.
