@keikepono111 You read my mind, I've been checking out Jacks are Better for one, a little pricey but i've been shopping around. I think that would work much better than the pad.
@kemmerly1 what is your point im not trying to be a dick but i am willing to bet that zoolander has a job and would rather get paid for doing that job to support his family than take a day off and go hiking , so i dont see what the shame ? is in that
You guys are so lucky for having these National Parks, I wish I can visit them, just for Example Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, also Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Rainier, Maroon Lake, and lots of a very amazing
Places, and what I love also about those places that they almost near each other
I love the wilderness, when you are up there all your problems will Evaporate
Most sons aren't afforded the luxury of spending that amount of time with their father...seems like your the type of guy that could justify carrying a couch into the woods. good on you and thanks for sharing your contents.
@afterthefox7 I picked it up at REI. It's made by GCI outdoor. Yes, I agree, a back on a chair makes a huge difference. Get it at Campmor, GCI quik-e-seat. I use the Alite Monarch Butterfly chair now, also at REI.
Good video! Everyone packs something that others would consider a waste of time and pack space. As long as your getting out and having fun in the process that is the important thing.
@nroc13 Yes, I use both of those and mac n cheese, flavored rice, stuffing mix, simple things like that. Also I pack frozen chicken, sausage, or hamburger. By dinner time it is thawed and i'm able to cook on the fire and have one or two of the side dishes. I like to keep it simple :)
I agree about taking a chair. So comfortable compared to logs etc. Its really not that heavy and unless weight is a big issue it will pay for itself!!
A Hennessey and a pack chair. Truly a hanger after my own heart, Your two day pack is just about like my base pack. I assume on longer trips you just use a bigger pack and add more gear.
@pappyhighlife Yes I do have a larger pack, but it's a cheap one with bad support. I've been shopping for a larger, good quality pack that's not to expensive. This setup does work well for two days though. Thanks for watching.
i love the pack. i have the blackhawk medium alice pack and its basicaly bomb proof like yours. also i used to carry a simular chair till i lost it. nice setup. keep treking...
Hell, if it doesn't weigh you down too much, a chair is a really nice thing to have once you get to your destination. And good job taking your son camping. I wish more parents spent time with their kids. I was fortunate enough to have a father that always took me places and those are memories I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.
Yes sir. The sleep pad is strapped on the outside of the pack on one side the chair on the other and the hammock on the bottom of the pack,on the outside. My wool blanket is rolled and strapped to the top.
Thanks. Yeah, i'm a fan of REI, every time I go there I buy something. I did add a lot of things to the medical kit, I kinda stuffed it, but I feel a little more prepared for emergencies. Thanks Guys!
Great video brother, and dont take no heat for the chair and such. Its all about what YOU use in the bush..some people couldnt take the weight of the old backpack I carry with everything in it....but I CAN...and that is all that matters....if it helps you enjoy nature,a nd get out there...that is all that matters.
Not a wimp nothing wrong with a chair, I like to sit on the chair and drink my coffee It doesn't go on real long hikes back in but for base camp camping won't hesitate good video
Really good video and set up you have there. I'd love to try a Hammock one day. Only thing I would say about the pack set up is can you get the water carrier on the side of the bag. When its loaded with a full water bottle it seems like it would put a lot of pull on the back of the bag. Thats not a criticism just an observation. You've got some good gear there.
Thanks for comment. I strap my sleep pad on one side of pack and the chair on the other and the hammock on the bottom. A wool blanket on top, so that leaves the only spot. To much gear and food inside the pack. Thanks for feedback, I'm new to videos.
Great vid, and a well refined kit. I like to see the gear that is available out there. 5/5 rating.
I post a lot of raw, desperation, spur of the moment type survival stuff but, I do really appreciate the well refined gear stuff. I hope to move in that direction in the future but, you guys do that better than me so I'm not in a hurry. I'm glad to see you posting. I value your input.
great video but yeah know the money spent for maxpedition gear can be spent in better ways there are a lot of better packs for a 1/3 of the price max gear is great dont get me wrong but way over priced
ive got the same wrist band on my left to. i have to wear mine to once in a while is your wrist injured i hurt mine punching the coat check girl in the head i aimed for her ear and hit the back of her head. any way great vid 5star do you ever take mre food ect
Hey, thanks man. Yeah I sprained it so I wrap it for support. Punched a girl...? Dude she must of pissed ya off seriously. I just showed my gear, I do take a lot of food, I eat well in the woods, that will be another vid. Thanks for watchin.
Great kit man! but you need a hammock chair...haha! I agree...24 lbs. isn't even heavy. It looks like a FORD in the background. If so way to go brother :o) Keep on hangin' man :o)
Nice vid, good quality stuf, looks like you put a lot of thought into what you use.
