  • nice,GOD bless THE SALVATON ARMY

  • Our local post office in long beach, calif. forced the SA to stop ringing their bell one year. The following year the PO forced the SA to stay away all together. The public outcry was strong, so the following year the post office allowed the SA to leave an un-personed collection for collections near the door. The public spoke up again and now we have the SA back. The SA person is not allowed to ring a bell, so she or he holds the door for people as they enter and exit.

    Merry Christmas, all!

  • I'll third the first two comments. I live in California where the Salvation Army Christmas collectors are no longer allowed to ring a bell at many businesses. Years ago they stopped having "The War Cry" on hand, and when I asked I was told they were no longer allowed to have them when collecting donations at public buildings. I don't know if these 2 apply only at government businesses or not.

  • I agree Christmas would not be Christmas without hearing the Salvation Army band. Isn't it great to be able to help people in the North East less fortunate than ourselves at a very special time of the year!

  • To me, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without enjoying the music of a Salvation Army band.
