Uh, duh, why is the USA fighting a nonlinear, guerilla type war in a conventional manner. The smart Taliban will just fade into the background while the troops are on their offensive. I think the USA has a bunch of Generals who don't know aything but a "roll out the troops" method of fighting. We should be fighting these headchoppers like the Israelis do, with a lot of spies, covert ops, assasins and payoffs to scumbags on the other side to turn. The USA seems like it is stuck in the past.

this is the war we should have been fighting all along. the people that actually attacked us on sept 11. and now everyone is acting all annoyed that we are increasing out presence in afghanistan. we have a reason to be in there. it just took a while to focus on it.

i know we didnt. i meant that we should have been focusing on afghanistan all along. when we went into iraq the whole world seemed to turn against us. now that we are increasing in afghanistan, which we have a right to, people are just going to want us out of the middle east. its really not fair to the troops.

Im kinda scratching my head as a Brit ready this shit above. How do you expect to win a war, how do you expect to stop the drugs trade over there??? Just leave and still let 80% (something around that figure) of the worlds Heroin keep on coming in to europe and the US. No heres what you do, you flush the taliban out with 1000's of troops who signed a peace of paper to say they accept they might die. You have patients and you then burn the opium fields and replace them with something else
