26B 4 rotary on a RX8 PP twin-turbo. its fucking hard to keep the revs smooth. well i cant do anything its a monster. ^^

Any PP Rotary with turbos is an absolute MONSTER and so are those 4 Rotor custom setups...No doubt about that!

I got an rx8, is it hard to get a hold of 20b racing motors and install them. I wouldn't think any garage would be able to get a hold of that motor and install it just like that.

You're right...It's hard to find a 20B, especially one in good condition and those race-prepped 20Bs from Mazda must be especially rare!

If you do happen to find one...It will cost an "arm & leg" to install and setup.

Wish I could have a 20B in my RX-8, just need to get a rotary slave to maintain the car for me all year then, as I'm clueless, probably wouldn't be cheap :D LOOOVE the sound of the PP engines.

A 20B in an RX-8 would be an interesting combo to say the least! You're right though...It won't be cheap and there are always additional issues when swapping in an engine that was never designed to go in the 8 (and vice versa).

As for the infamous PP sound...It's truly timeless...I never get tired of hearing it!

Do you know how much horses that cosmo is putting down and at what RPMs does it redline at?

I actually got a chance to speak with the owner and builder of the Racing Cosmo (from EST Fukuyama)...He was really cool and here is what I learned...If I recall correctly...I'm might be slightly off on some specs...:)

* 400hp

* 290tq (if my conversion is correct)

* 9000 rpm limit

* 1100 - 1200 kg (If I recall correctly)

* RX-7 Suspension & Brakes

* Stick-shift...RX-7?

* Powerband is smooth and progressive

* Battery & relays located behind where the front passenger seat would be

Sounds cool. Stick-shifts in race-prepped cosmos usually have the 3rd gen RX-7 (and mostly the twin-turbos)tranny swapped in. The bell housing is shaped like it was meant to be on a 20B :)

Yeah...That Racing Cosmo was one of the most intense and amazing race cars I've ever seen...You could hear it coming before you saw it...Even over the sound of all the other racing Rotaries and it got my heart pumping every time!

The PP 20B is a BEAST of an engine!

The track is located in Japan...In Hyōgo Prefecture...It's called CENTRAL CIRCUIT (central-circuit . jp) *Remove Spaces!

It's a fairly small "local style" track located in the mountains but it hosts some of the best Rotary & Racing events in Japan!
