  • Banjos always sounds good

    my #2 sitcom-

#1 was bewitched!!!!! because of all the stereotypical people in it...ABBNA!!!!ABBNA" there's two people in this room! Ya and one of em's nuts!!!!!!

  • god bless the pickers of the world:)

  • nobody does this hit like cousin Lester and cousin Earl!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this song it so good

  • who sings it

  • @hali046969 - Don't know for sure but it sounds like Lester Flatt singing.

  • @VinylNostalgia Yes, that is Lester singing. His voice has more treble in it than Jerry Scoggins, and he has a slightly different accent than Scoggins.

It's most noticeable when he says "Poor". Scoggins pronounces it "Pore", and Flatt more like "poo-er"."

This isn't the theme song recording, though. Jerry Scoggins DID do the vocal on that, backed by Flatt & Scruggs.

  • @VinylNostalgia It is Lester.

  • @VinylNostalgia it is lester singin this one!!!! hear how deep his voice is earl just playin banjo!!!!

  • @frenchfrieish Yes sir, it is!!

  • @VinylNostalgia yeah it is lester

  • @hali046969 Hey I know this is 8months late and you may have found out by now but it's the Man on the left. Just saw the video of him singing it on tv.

  • @hali046969 Jerry SCoggins sings this!

  • @hali046969 Lester Flatt is singing, on the TV show it was Jerry Scroggins.

  • @hali046969 i believe it was Earl Scruggs that sang this.

  • Jerry Scoggins sang the TV theme not the original ballad

  • Makes me wonder if my grandfather could have played like that after doing a line, God rest his soul.

  • this is country....wish it was still goin on i n nashville, insead of all that bullshit new shit.

  • TALENTED AND RESPECTED "FORE-FATHERS"!!!!

  • Liked it when Lester and Earl appeared on the Hillbillies. Especially when they brought the smoking hot Joi Lansing with them.

  • Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt and Jerry Scoggins recorded the song and Jerry Scoggins is the singer.

  • @hjb103055

SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE BUT LESTER FLATT IS SINGING.( YOU CAN TELL IN HIS "S'" HE HAS A SLIGHT HISS TO IT BECAUSE OF THE SHAPE OF HIS MOUTH.

  • @airborneassasin I just wrote what I read on the internet.

The Ballad of Jed Clampett - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • @hjb103055 you do realize that wikipedia can be edited by any idiot out in the world, and most of the articles are made by idiots and are completely inaccurate

  • @narutofan123332 Click on Jerry Scoggins, 93; Sang About a Man Named Jed in 'The Beverly ...THAT was written by LA Times. Now click on 'Beverly Hillbillies' Singer Dies - CBS News. If your going to correct people on youtube make sure your right so you don't look like an asshole.

  • @hjb103055 your replying to me why? i said nothing about that

  • @narutofan123332 I'm so sorry. I first answered a comment from someone and when you said what you did about the internet sometimes being wrong I thought it was the same person who left both answered and I started one of those stupid youtube fights. Whenever I read these things I always roll my eyes and say "Jesus, people get a life" Anyway, no matter who wrote what I I'm really sorry. Please except my apology.

  • @narutofan123332 I resent your comment. Wikipedia articles are not completely, nor remotely inaccurate and are often written and edited by professionals representing appropriate fields of study. Changes are actively monitored and vandalism is corrected quickly. Sources are required and pointed out when lacking. Say what you like in your petty youtube battle, but do not undermine one of the greatest collaborative knowledge databases of our modern times to support your arguments.

  • @TheBleuBlurr petty you tube battle?funny, i'm going off the fact that its full of wrong information and most places of education block or condemn the use of Wikipedia due to the fact of how in accurate it is

  • @narutofan123332 1) It is not a fact that Wikipedia is full of wrong information 2) Wikipedia articles are group-written summaries of collected sources. They are not intended to be used as citation material but rather as a comprehensive overview of a subject with a pool of valuable sources to be checked and cited as needed. This *fact* does not imply that Wikipedia has diminished usefulness or low overall accuracy. There are studies that pit Wikipedia against other encyclopedias. Check them out.
