chuck wasn't bad, just different. and an alcoholic. no one compares to patton of course, but chuck did well in his time.

the we care a lot years weren't bad, but they didn't rock nearly as hard as angel dust, etc., and i think a lot of it had to do with production values. you can definately hear shitloads of energy in songs like as the worm turns or mark bowen, it just wasn't captured correctly (as powerfully as it could have been) on those albums.
