@anteracmacash Drill sergeants love throwing smoke grenades!
Actually sometimes the pyro selection is pretty limited, and also, range control sets limits on what you can use if the forest fire hazard is elevated, so colored smoke is often used where artillery simulators would be more appropriate. When we could get them, we used grenade simulators at the IED point. The rest of the time smoke was as good as it got.
Nice VID. Forgot how much fun that was. "Weapons out!" LOL.... Dug the music at the village too. I had to stand at that water bridge all day... great memories.
@vontrasky Thanks.. I remember that spot well! It was actually a welcome break after climbing on and off 5-tons and breathing diesel exhaust day after day.
Glad you guys are interested. I think you are trying to say that you're concerned about this video revealing doctrine and sensitive information. As a drill sergeant, yes, I've heard of OPSEC. Note that you are witnessing training that took place five years ago. Also, the video is heavily edited and does not include some coverage that was available in the original version. I am proud to say that my work keeps soldiers alive, and I do a great job at it. Please keep sharing the comments.
why the hell do they use colored smoke ??
I always see these purple smoke streams...
