I don't understand why gay 'badly needed, intelligent' persons want to serve in an otherwise un-intelligent institution that hates them. It seems suicidal and a waste of valuable time, mind and life. They should serve America by working in the government, or pick a decent company that values them. If the military doesn't want you, threatens you, why are you joining? I could understand if this was a draft, or a citizen army, but this is voluntary. It's disturbing to me.

we should repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell and go back to the ban. Military service is not a right and if you choose a lifestyle of homosexuality the military has the right not to let them serve. If it is not a choice as some claim then it should fall under other conditions they will not let you serve with, like epilipsy, etc.

I choose to be straight. We are born straight. Some people choose to be homosexual. I find homosexuality immoral and disgusting. However, it is a free country so if you choose that life you choose that life.

People choose who they go to bed with. The only peole practicing homosexuality not by choice would be those forced, in prison for example.

I'd say many guys choose it because gays tend to have problems controling sexual urges and decide other guys who are the same way is the easiest way to fulfill them. A major reason why gays should be banned from military period. We don't need one soldier sizing up others in his platoon.
