  • Very good!

  • Thank you!!

  • Jonah's prophecy was a warning. In fact, Jonah initially refused to go because He KNEW that God would show mercy if they repented. The context in that account shows that Jonah's prophetic word was intended as an admonition to repentance, not as a prediction of an inevitable judgment. That is vastly different from people making predictions, presenting them as absolutes, and then it never comes to pass, and then doing doctrinal acrobatics to try to avoid being accountable for their lies.

  • Actually not every prophecy is going to exhort, edify and comfort... exhortation can include rebuke, and not everything that God will use to build you will be comfortable. His teaching is very self-serving. The Bible does not tell us to have faith in prophecy. Faith is NOT required for a real prophecy to come to pass. Deut. 18:22 says "if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, then that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken."

  • @TheEvilHare What about when Jonah prophesied that Neneveh would be destroyed in forty days? That prophetic word did not come to past, because the people held a fast and repented. This dosn't mean that Jonah's word wasn't from God in fact it just means that God is a merciful God. God told Moses that he would destroy Israel many times, but didn't follow through with it,because of Moses prayers. The spoken word is subject to change, because of God's mercy but the written word will never change.

  • what with the woman drawing instead of listening... LOL

  • @Peace7Maker she was probs prophetically drawing!

  • thank you again for this very important message! May The Lord have His way in and through us..and may we be discerning of HIS LEADING us into any good work we do for His Glory!!

  • That was a good word!
