  • I'm just getting started with acrylics and although I'm far from creating anything like this it was very helpful. I'm going to get started experimenting, thanks!

  • wat is the name of the song

  • Blew me away ! ....Loved it ....the colors are soooooooo perfectly matched ! coooooooooool stuff ! .....why don't you teach it ??? ;)

  • very nice....but didn't teach anything???

  • but if you wet the canvas don't it look wavely ?

  • Any recommended books for reading on these techniques?

  • @CarlosMacMartin sorry no books only my videos

  • As always, I'm amazed and inspired!

  • @MarkThompson01 thank you so much Mark!

  • I know this will sound a stupid question, but how do you wet the canvas? Also, what is this you use on 1.11, is it a sth like a sponge? :)

  • @moonshinetears first there are no stupid questions, in order to wet the canvas you would simply need to wet a sponge or a brush and spread the water on the canvas that is laid in horizontal or vertical position. For the most part I use sponge to blend the colors. Thank you for asking and good luck!

  • @pdranitsin Thank you :)

  • at 0:26 how did you get the brown to drip down like that??

  • @missmary012 I have previously wet the canvas surface before I began to paint thanks for asking :)

  • Peter's paintings are amazing.....just when u think he is nearly finished, he adds more color..!!.....then works more magic !!

  • @22moodindigo you are too kind :D

  • wow...you make it look so easy and beautiful. People all my life have said I have a gift in drawing etc. yet I never honed it or took it seriously. It's one of those 'to do" when I retire disciplines, if still alive. However, coming across your channel may help change my mind on the timing...TYVM.. this is our friend and we have many of her painting wwwDOTabstractartduskDOTcom

  • @CYRAPHYM great thank you and good luck to your friend!

  • do you mix the acrylic with some water?

  • @ValePCD Yes I do. I actually wet the canvas first before I apply paint to it.

  • Amazing what you have created with just a sponge as your painting tool ! Very nice ! I never thought about wearing gloves when I paint but it might be a good idea, as the last painting I did I ended up with thick paint all over my nails and hands. I am just starting to get into abstract painting, - last one started out realistic, wasn't working, so decided to have fun and scraped off some paint, threw more on, used a spray bottle, and created good results I am pleased with. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Mariontl Thank you for your comment!

  • hey love yr work......u mind if i ask wats u using to shade....is it a sponge?

  • @369simsim yes it's just a regular sponge thank you for asking

  • wow, this is great. so question, do you think out everything brfore you do it? like, when you painted the blue all over the left of the bottle, did you know you'd be covering it later? or do you just kinda paint as you go and change it as you feel.

  • @anna12910 good question thank you for asking! you are absolutely right I just go with the flow and make up things as I go

  • this is...wow..i love this. at every point. and the technique you used was awesome. LOVE

  • Absolutely try it. I would also recomend trying any other tool you can think of @szforlife

  • did you add any retarder gel before you add your paint in the beginning????

  • No retarder was used just acrylic paint @dramoschocolate

  • Thanks much! This is what I was looking for.

    Also you're a GREAT artist!! (:

  • @xSoul3z Thank you!

  • Can some one answer @AAdynasty's question???

  • absolutely!

  • out of all of your works, this is my favourite.so bold and so balanced... is the sponge dry or a little bit moist? are you using different sponges for different colour areas, or use the same and let the previous colours (already on the sponge) blend in?

  • I alternate the methods that you have mentioned

  • Were you bad at painting when you first started, or did it just come easy to you?

  • to be honest with you I was around artists when I was growing up and many things just come from observation that helped me in the long run

  • WOOW amazingg.... that was amazzinggg like, i thought it couldn't get any better then it did, and then again, and again!! nd at the end i thuoght he was american, then russian, then german then polish :S just had to say xD

  • wish I could paint like that.. you make it look so easy

  • thank you all for your comments. just to let you know I am planning on releasing more videos here soon!

  • Peter, your videos are FANTASTIC!! THANK YOU!!!

  • I have been watching your videos repeatedly, I think you are amazing. I hope you keep posting, I seem to catch a little more each time I watch. I know they have to be sped up for YT's sake, and that's fine, it gets me to pay closer attention.

Peter, you are an amazing artist...thank you for sharing. this particular piece is excellent, love the blue against orange vibe...well honestly love the piece as a whole...

    best wishes,

  • what happens between 0.24 and 0.25? The canvas looks completely different.

    Thanks

  • @Pottymoon Yes, Peter. Please show what you do and what you use. This would be immensely helpful for those of us attempting to learn by viewing. Thank you.

  • hi, i have a suggestion for your videos. I enjoyed your video, however, I think it would be better if you added words to some parts of the video to show why you do certain techniques or what the technique aims to achieve. Also, maybe you could also write something about your paintings in the summary, seems like everyone has questions for you!

  • You're a great Artist!

  • How do you make the acrylics look so thin?

When I paint with a brush every stroke is thick and wide.

    What is your technique?

And what object did you use in this video, and how did you use them?

  • @LesPaulization I simply add plenty of water

  • and white paint

  • clear cote is water

  • Nice video lesson and great work. I'm just wondering, what's the clear coat that you brush on the canvas before applying paint?

  • Thanks for sharing your work, do you let the paint dry before you put the next color on?

  • Wow. Seriously, wow. Your talent is amazing and I am in awe of how easy you make it appear. You've also inspired me to try my own hand at abstract painting--though I doubt I will ever be anywhere near as good as you are.

  • thank you for your comments and I am glad that my videos inspire others to paint :)

  • Hello Peter. Your art is wonderful. I did have a question for you. What are you using to blend your colors? A sponge? A rag? What type of implement? I love the effects you get.

  • @diquattrom Thank you for your comments. I use variety of different things for mixing purpose. Some would include different types of brushes, sponges, rags...In this specific video I used brushes and a sponge.

  • I found that for blending the best thing you can use is sponge to get a soft transition

  • just went to you site and your paintings are amazing dude!!! beautiful!! i love them!

  • @MOMOBUFFY Thank you!

  • Just want to comment on my own video - don't be afraid to make changes to your painting even if the result is not want you desired it is still a learning process
