I have a question for you. Badiou says that one type of evil is when it is a simulacrum of a truth event...like nazi politics that tried to present itself as a truth event. If the nazis had won then, would the Holocaust then not be evil? Is the evil vs truth based on something essential or the way that it takes hold, or doesn't in society? This worries me.
I think a truth event can be a realization of your own mortality, not necessarily a great cultural discovery that changes the social paradigm. Having a biopsy out and waiting for results, detaching from society as you prepare to die is a truth event.
Gosh, reality is way more complex then they taught me in high school.
