  • OKay thank you , do yourll post to South Africa?

  • @yashycr7 Not yet, but I have posted to China, Australia, Egypt, and ohter countries in your neck of the woods. I'm sure South Africa will work.

  • HI

Thanks for your response , your book looks very interesting and i would love to

use it.Also i would like to purchase the defraction gradient ,Do you ship to

south africa ? and im not to familiar with paypal , is their any other way to make payment?

  • @yashycr7 A paypal account is very easy to open, but you can make a paypal payment even if you don't have your own account. Just use a credit card.

  • Hi i am not very clued up on electronics or lasers and some of these is like a different language to me , i would like to however take this as a hobby , does anyone know off any sites where i can get the theory on all of this so i can learn about it?

  • @yashycr7 I have an ebook that I sell that works for beginners. Check out my web page and see if it's something you might want.

  • i subed btw , i liked the pattern you made

  • its a steper moter isnt it

  • yeah, but this a lasershow for hamsters or even a smaller audience ??

  • Where do I buy one??

  • That`s a pretty awesome DIY Laser Show! :D

  • Excellent! Amazing!

  • @2000vm Thank you so much.

  • @Starcross42 how many milli watts are both your pointers

  • @coolaidkiller101 These are 20mW pointers. But even a 5mW pointers in a dark room will work well.

  • Excellent!

  • Thank you for the videos !!! I just watched all 7 ! I'll be waiting to see #8 ... LOL !!!

  • @brian17236 I'm working on the Laser Microscope... We shall see!

  • amzing

  • did you glued a lego part on textured glass?

  • @locationmontpellier Epoxy. Yes.

  • very cool.

  • nice one!

  • omg this music makes me think of a bunch of middle schoolers eating at a pizza parlor in the 90's

  • looks better in person, and can be done with near any molded glass such as commonly ava. molded imitation cut glass coasters. -Glenn

  • I also show you how to make a high power laser lumia wheel for free. If you want to learn more view my video or visit my web site.

  • hey mate just wandering where you get a clock motor

  • The name comes from the device... Every electric clock has a simple clock motor inside.

  • I think he means a 1 RPM motor. Goes round once per minute. Really slow so you get a nice effect.

  • @laserpyro (facepalm)

  • you can create similar effects by putting oil on a chrome or highly polished metal ball (small marble sized) and shining a laser on it. Laser safety glases make a similar effect too

  • Anyway you could post a tutorial or something to make or get this?

  • Great videos. Im trying to recreate you laser effects show with the 2 motors and the diffraction grating sheets. Just curious if these motors could work for the "interference spider web" effect? Also, what would it look like going through 2 pieces of glass?

  • Ugly. Two pieces of glass that is... Each effect is the result of how the material effects the light. After a bit it is just too many light sources. But hey, that's the fun of experimenting...

  • @longjohnsilver4i 2 pieces of glass actually works great with a "normal" light source. Like LEDs or Spots. If they move really really slow, it gives you a water reflection effect. On the effects i love the most.

  • nice man, how do u do that?

  • there from hs comuter

  • yur a mron.

  • freaking crazy. how do you come up with this stuff? good job man looks awesome these are way better visualizers (however u spell it) than windows media player. i like how it turned on the first one. nice

  • how big are those on the wall? it looks really small.

  • The image size is a function of distance between the wall and the optics. Yes, these are zoomed in to show the fine detail in the patterns. However when projected onto a wall further away the patterns are the same. A bright laser will produce a bright pattern even far away. Enjoy.

  • Whats the difference between the red effect(the first one) glass and the glass you used?

  • Different patters, and the red one was moving on a motor, the green one was hand held. Take your laser to the glass store and try all their patterns.

  • Feel like on LSD

  • nothing like the red one but nice try

  • the first bit reminds me of that windows screensaver... cooool

  • Wonderful music and very hypnotic.

  • Very creative! 5 stars!

Byt what does the clock motor do?

  • A clock motor turns very slowly. The green effect is hand held and looks nice, but the red effect is from the clock motor with the laser mounted. It is much smoother and more hyptonic. I can mount the green with the clock motor and it would look better.

  • No like where do u put the laser and glass?

  • Ah... The shaft of the motor is always off center. Mount the glass on this shaft and as it turns the laser points through the glass. Does that help?

  • yes! I finally got my laser pointer from eBay! And I discovered a cool effect when you point it across the bumpy part of the blue thing that keeps the water in it when you have a water bubbler. it cre8s a cool effect!

  • whats is the name of the laser device that you could buy in this one.

  • I can't remember the name. It was sold at Spenser's Gifts a few years ago. I have not seen it anywhere else (or even there). A subtle effect and not as 'flashy' as some of the other effects.

Sorry I can't be more help.

  • oh ok it cool.i guess ill just look for it. anyway i`ve worked on some laser light effects for a private show in my basement . do you have any suggestions

  • Well, I have 5 videos with inexpensive effects. But I would take my laser pointer EVERYWHERE and shine it through anything clear to see the effect. Came up with some cool stuff that way. Look for 'fireworks' glasses. Good effect.

  • ok thanx

  • to long intro

  • Sorry you thought it was too long. It was a different video with my brother's music and wanted to demonstrate how these effects might be used in a show. The actual effect is so simple that the video to explain it would be 30 seconds.

  • yeah... but you are the man d[-_-]b

  • I am shocked at the simplicity of the spider web effect. I keep thinking that it looks like a classic screensaver effect. The effect itself doesn't wow me TOO much, but thinking about the optics behind it blows my mind. Very cool.

  • it's beautiful

  • I did this in 1987 with a Spectra-Physic HeNe laser which back then, cost $1200 in quantities, but at the time, I worked for a company as an optical physicist and had access to four types of lasers.

Lots of fun can be had with lasers and scanning mirrors, melted plastic lenses on timer motors, etc.

  • Yea, the first laser I started working with was at college back in '78. OH were THEY expensive.

  • Hi, good job, very interesting, we can see and feel the love you have for your job. I play guitar and sing in a bar and would like to add some lighting effects, any suggestion of what i should start with. Thanks

  • My brother David, the one playing the music in this video, didn't like the effects at all. He wanted people to come to hear him and not 'see the show'. I did stuff for a 'pink floyd' cover band and there were gigs they couldn't get without the lasers.

Depending on your style of music, this effect is nice, on a screen behind you. Or the Crystal ball (laser effects show 3). good luck.

  • good ideas. why do you have this think? Regarding galvos we can supply it. But I see this video only use motor control their do circle rotation.

  • Go to Build a Laser Effects Show 6, and post your address as a supplier of galvos. Thanks for the contact. General Scanning is a bit pricy.

  • I found the galvos of Laser Effects Show 6 is open loop galvos. we supply closed loop galvos, their have more effect, can project circle, text, rectangle, animal. LP12K galvos price is 100usd, I don't know this price is cheap or pricey for you. you can send email to me: laserpic at gmail dot com.

  • Yes, closed loop galvos are better for most uses (except mine). I like the simple frequency input of keyboards.

$100 is a good price. Interested people will contact you. Thanks.

  • can you please give me a list of your lasers and the stuff you use?

i really like what you are doing! keep it up.

  • Green lasers are >20mW and red lasers are simple keychain lasers.

Motors are varied but common. The galvanometers are expensive and I don't have a source of surplus galvos anymore. Sorry.

Send me an email at starcross42 at hotmail dot com and I'll send a pdf file that may have more details.

    Glad you like the stuff.

  • It's like being at Laserium!

  • And very easy to do yourself.

  • Yesss! I'm doing it right now! Just got to get my green laser so that it will look more impressive. Then I will start making videos.

  • Sorry for my comment, I didn't look at the end of the video.

  • Not a problem. Glad you liked David's music. I'm using him on a number of my videos. He would have liked it. He wrote original music for a number of my old VHS videos.

  • I like the music too, but who made it?

  • Oh yea. Love the lasers and the music.

  • Amazing.
