evryting was beautiful..jst thingss got a bit messed up by the end of the song...a bihu sounds good only when it is finished with the traditional "DHUL"...drums shud not hv been be included
amazing...fantastic, great work, great fusion of assam folk and maharastrian folk.... indeed feel like to hear the song time and time again....khogen voice is unique...
lets us not try to compare Indian and Pak version of Coke Studio pls . in essence they are both same but then they both have their individuality.pak has 2 languages and India has more than 55 . CS is platform where the languages break barrier and woven with rhythm . the musician do a brilliant job to weave the old rhythm with new that it becomes more palatable to new us . and still retain the old charm .
@vone1974 .. correctn pls.. pak doesnt hv 2 languages. pls research bfore u give unstated facts n cloud ppls minds !! .. u outta first listn to th paki CS .. u wud prbly knw there, how many langs pak has. !! im an indian n am nt comparing.. bt pls get ur facts right !
@chlne i am sorry . yess u are rite . pak has many dialects as well . was aware of this , but the most spoken are urdu , pashto , and punjabi . i only only referring to commonly used dialects in pak . sorry . for my comment .
i dont we should consider and try to draw too many similarities between Coke Studio Pakistan and Coke Studio India. as the only thing common is that they both a platform to bring together a culture that has moved thru centuries and this platfoorm tries to bring them together and hence we try to define it in fusion. pakistan has 2 languages and India has more 55.
in essence both are same but also have their own individuality . i have high respect for musicians of both sides .
Dear All, i think the guys who are posting negative comments are because of the language barrier. perhaps if we could find the translations on web then we might be able to enjoy this music as well. Otherwise, the composition and arrangements are great and its following its legacy. Cheers!
though i don't understand both the languages, i liked the song :) assamese song is better than the other one.... both have sung well but it's khogen gogoi all the way for me!!! i love his voice which different from the regular star singers & it's refreshing to....
as of now, vethalai, bichua and tip top & me dolkar stands out for me!!!!!
First thing is folk singer must be left alone, fusion should have been only for the music, secondly this shouldn't and must not be commercialized, it should remain for experiments on music, weather music comes out good or bad only than program will grow.
I think this is first time music is coming out of the shadows of the Bollywood in India and should be kept alone from them.
well, IMO its completely dependent on the result. This time the result may not have been so good. In a way Folk has no particular genre. in fact that is one way to call it folk (or a group) of people, without a specific foray into 'schools of music', as folk music.
As far as Raga Jazz is concerned - its a kind of fusion where "two accepted musical schools are being fused".
I think experimentation is better than recreation!
@pranavaswaroop well how about the two different genres atleast start playing with each other to begin with. I see what are you getting at but these are just two different songs put side by side. There are numerous Indian examples of fusion e..g the album on Raga Jazz by Shankar and Jaikishan, that would be fusion.

I just don't understand why the India-Pakistan thing has to be brought into everything! This is music, if it appeals to you, listen to it. If it doesn't, close the window and go to another site/channel, yaar.
Personally, I found the episode a bit mediocre. I had very high expectations.
p.s. before "patriotic" Inidians begin to flame me, I must clarify that I'm an Indian :)
I'm looking at the negative comments here and quite embarassed as many of these negative comments are from my fellow Pakistanis. Are you guys freakin' kidding me? This is amazing stuff! All my respect for the artists.
