hi got a question for u i have a baja 5b ss the pinion and spur gear keeps burning up i have changed the carrier and the bell but still burns the gears up and malts is there something i have to change to stop this from happening again

That Baja is not "modified" it just has som minor upgrades if you are talking real modifing it's homemade things and so on, but overall it's a nice Baja with some upgrades :)

@fieldingmelis045 hey ebay is great xD but think about it there is also a rovan 260 available it costs 580 euro and the baja 5b 900 euro.

the rovan look the same, has even the same parts as the baja and u can also take the parts from hpi to tune or repair the rovan

@emerika943 Why do you support people that copy right the company's that make them. Sure they are cheaper but would you how would you feel if you put months of R&D technology into makeing these hop-ups and even make the buggy it self. If you dont have the money then wait for the right time to buy it when you have time. Rovan is cheaper because they steal the idea of other companys and they reproduce them with the lowest cost materials. Thats why rovan is dirt cheap.

but sorry i have read a lot about those clones and i have to say that rovan isn that good , palstic is a bit weak, but km is nearly the same as hpi (only in winter when its really cold like (minus 7 ) the plastic shell could brake

and sorry but the thechnology is not that expensive, you just pay for the name !!

as for ground clearance im not sure but i think the 5t has more, as for mods, the 5b and 5t are very similar cars so the mods for them are mostly the same

If you think about the price it's not THAT bad, for example. Look how much 1/8th scale nitros run you? Usually 4-800 dollars! The baja is one of the biggest rc's out there and built like a rock.

If you've ever run a nitro you know how expensive the fuel you buy gets. For the baja you just need gas and some 2 stroke oil. Running it is dirt cheap compared to nitro's!

Also look at getting a used one, should be able to find one for around $800 easily.

mods? try adding a shot of NOS,OK so i went through a engines doing so but when i get the NEw balanced/Blueprinted/ported 35 cc back ill show you mods.With a 5 hp shot of NOS kikin in at 7/8 throttle it should hit 80= mph at 100% throttle.First run clocked 75 mph b4 engine failed...LOL oppppssss

why compramise the already nice baja by cutting it up when it will make no difference, hpi dont recommend it for a reason obviously. why do that when the engine is already open. not a good encouragement at all. if the experts say no its for a reason.
