The Turkish decline had more to do with economics than war. They began exporting raw goods to Europe where they were converted into products and sold back to the Turks. If you don't already know, it's a bad idea.

@semprefidelis76 Without getting involved in this online wank fest, what I find interesting is that the Janissaries where Christians boys taken from their families in Greece, Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria etc. from the early 1300s and then forced to convert to Islam. They were a very highly disciplined army and excellent fighters, the best of the Ottoman Empire. But they were originally European Christians.

The result Hapsburg ascendancy in central & [south] eastern Europe. That isn't even factoring in the Russians. You need to read more history.

European cavalry tactics and technology were far more advanced than the Turks.
ottoman empire never conquered vienna only besieged it but couldnt take it. a huge factor was the bad weather many artillery pieces were left behind in bad terrains and winter was coming so they had to hurry aswell... what would europe look like if the ottoman empire continued their expansions in europe?
