@teambronski well they are kinda populer in a way. if main stream communicated the same intelligence in lyrics and ethics we might, but then you'd just argue there hypocritical.
@TheRageagainst44 I mean popular as in "pop" and the only way for Bad Religion to be hypocritical if if all of a sudden they all joined the church and stopped writing great music. I don't mind if they are mainstream, that at least says something for music lovers out there.
@teambronski didnt mean bad religion hypocritical i mean the pop acts, as there mostly just a product to sell, with very little passion or thought in there songs, obviously not all of them, but thats what most punk mand punk ideas stand against is what i meant.
@TheRageagainst44 Hells yeah and it's so much more apparent today too, so much more obvious. Funny, when hip-hop first came on the scene I swore it would add some intelligence to pop music, and maybe it did for a while but now it's fallen to the same "anything for a buck" mentality as the old pop music. Hey, at least punk will have stuff to rebel against forever!
When popular music becomes this smart maybe we will get someplace.
