This is a performance that many choirs down through the years have repeated. Nothing wrong with it! My choir has also done this "SOLID ROCK" check it out. You may say the same thing but its cool.

like me. Although the choir does a good job singing,I just did not like this rendition at all.

To the 35yr experience director.....honestly you sound to be blowing your own horn. Give this guy a break, like you said, it's entertaining. Creativity is part of directing. I've studied under many directors, all who utilize the same old methods....boring. I would love to sing or play under this guy.

The choir is very good. The director is entertaining. I'm sure he was exhausted after the concert. I've directed choirs for over over 35 years. He is all over the place. My mentor would say this director is out of control and has no directing discipline. All in all it was a good presentation.

You cant direct this song with "directing discipline." I have always been taught to direct the way the song sounds. If the song is intense then you should direct as such. If the choir is singing aggressively then he should be "all over the place."

Besides they are Apostolic. They are going to be all over the place anyway.

Not to start a back and forth, that is not exactly true. I've been directing for over 35 years. "35 years." This song is not new. It may be older than you, I don't know. I conduct workshops on directing. I was trained by some of gospel's best, Rev. Cleveland, Min. Keith Pringle, and Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. This gentlemen has no directing control. Also, I, too am Apostolic. So, I'm not so inclined to appreicate your last comment. But that is not the point.

This is a "re-mix" of Mattie Moss Clark's rendition some 20+ yrs ago. It's really well done. I admire them because this type of song requires that the choir pays attention to the director. It exhibits discipline and training. Most of today's music is sung on auto-pilot.
