  • i can't understand your slurred speech.

  • I'm afraid that I, too, had difficulty understanding cos of slurred speech.

  • @flysafely its really not that hard, get those parts and plug them in, everything is pretty explanitory, only thing I didnt understand before this vid was where the port was on the laptop, macs are kind of ghetto. They go against the law, and actually its not that hard to understand him.

  • @FatalBlur Hi Fatalblur, my comment wasn't about the how-to part of the video but rather that I was agreeing with at least one other who said they couldn't understand because of slurred speech--which I agreed with. (Lack of) Enunciation was what made it a bit difficult for me to understand not the content part.

  • @flysafely Hi flysafely, I did not realize we were speaking in a formal tone of speech, either way, I apologize for the lack of understanding of your post. Moreover, thankyou for understanding my ignorance and stupidity.

  • Really!? I don't think that it should be as complicated as you make it seem. Well maybe not complicated in a technical stand point, but more like "out of the way" complicated.

  • why do you have a wireless mouse and keyboard if you have a laptop?

  • plz tell me i can do in hd 1080

  • I do have one question. Considering how cheap monitors are nowadays, and how even with all the adaptors and cables you need it still doesn't add up to that much. Why on earth would anyone buy apple's cinema display considering it costs about 4 times as much as a regular screen.

  • Thanks really help been trying to find mini dvi to vga out for ages now found out that you need a VGA to VGA

  • how much for the cords?

  • The TV isn't that much larger than the 13"s own screen. And by using VGA, it's bound to look worse. It's also a bit confusing to the noobs to be showing a VGA setup, when you should just be using MD Port to HDMI -- carrying the audio as well to your TV.

  • do you have to have a extra key bored... can you just keep you mac open

  • thanks, very helpful!

  • @str8savage fuck

  • So, I just have to buy a VGA Cable, Mini Display port (I already have a keyboard/mouse etc) and I can turn my Macbook into a desktop?

Apple mini display ---> Dvi ---> HDMI ???

And wil this work fine with macbook white (newest)?

  • why are you plug in to a power ?? my is not to power ? :?

  • I have a question. This info is useful but i have a 2009 imac, its a desktop all one piece. I also have a minidisplay port, but i only have an hdmi port on my hdtv, would it work with hdmi and an imac. can someone answer this

  • dat would be good for grand theft auto sananderas

  • Would u need a VGA to VGA for a tv? Because i dont think my tv has that VGA port thing...

  • Hey, I want to buy a new monitor to my macbook pro to see the games more clearly and to play in a more comfortable way.. The question is, if I connect the Macbook Pro into the monitor, will it be able to play on higher resolution? or I will able to play with the original resolutions that the macbook pro's lcd can produce? So basically if the macbook pro's video card can produce bigger resolutions, that's the question:) thanks for the video, everything seems more clearlier now:)

  • Good stuff man!! Thanks for the help and Tutorial!

  • what about the sound?

  • can u use any mouse or keyboard or dose it have to be mac

  • @CRPritch20 any keyboard and mouse, i use microsoft displays and keyboards and mice not because im a windows fanboy, because they are cheaper than a 999$ display and a 29$ mini display port. instead a can get a 200$ 27 inch microsoft display, 5$ mini display port.

  • would it still be at its highest resolution if you us dual screen?

  • So i did everything in this video but I still cant seem to get a signal on my tv monitor ? Its like it wont recognize my computer ? All my other TV's in my house work but not this tv ? I am using a mini DVI to VGA on all tvs and this one just doesn't seem to work ?

  • I hooked my mac to the monitor and that works. But when I close my Mac the TV goes blank and loses connection. I have the wireless mouse and the Keyboard. I though when I close my mac the monitor would still continue working. What should I do.

  • NOTHING IS WORKING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have all the right cords. i have a basic macbook and a 32" vizio. at first i had a HDMI with Mini disply and found out that is wrong so i got a VGA with mini display...And on my vizio i have RGB setting....nothing is working 'spodgjfs

  • great video very helpful

  • where did you get the VGA adappder

  • Is there still an overheating problem with a closed Macbook-lid?

  • @lina8316 yes, i experience that

  • @Drenwickification not that i know of

  • good vid dude

  • were do we bye whit cable

  • @sam36044 best buys, apple store,

  • @mccool24 Check on amazon. They are very good with these types of things and have a wide selection.

  • do you need to sync the wirless keyboard and mouse first to your mac ? and does it work with just a normal mac

  • omg this is crazy lol. we have the same laptop, mouse, cords, tv, wireless keyboard, and screen savor.... creepy.

  • @LivefromtheCHF *saver. You have tempted the wrathe of the GrammarNazi's....

  • it wont show what i'm doing on my mac book on my tv

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • your an idiot, it DOESN'T have to be plugged in...

  • @thatsnazzyappleguy You have no idea what you are talking about, "idiot". It has to be plugged in or it will just shut off. I know because that's what happens to mine. Maybe that's different for 2010 models. You should really research before you make a comment like that because it makes you look stupid.

  • @GeekisCarnage i have both the Early 2010 model and the Mid 2009 model. yours might just be fucked up. i connect both to external monitors almost every day and they are never plugged in and they both work great. they are both Macbook Pro's and 13" by the way

  • fucking awesome

  • Yesssssssss I did it! Lol. Thanks.

  • so i have a insignia too, but for some reason, while my Mac recognizes the TV displays my TV won't recognize my mac even though i have it on the VGA setting. any suggestions? thanks!

  • @FunkyMamaJunction Is your MacBook plugged up to the power cord?

  • THANKS!

  • I got a unibody macbook pro. I have a wireless keyboard with build in mouse. If I used the macbook pro build in bluetooth. Will this that work or I need a usb bluetooth? I'm just asking cause I see you are using usb bluetooth for mouse.

  • @kevyan2006 You can use any wireless or bluetooth mouse and keyboard

  • What if you tv doesnt recognize it? Like i connect it and the colors are all messed up and has a purple overlay and if i press detect display it just says "VGA display" and has no color options other then the tab at the top which doesn't do much and yes i have tried messing with the actual tv colors.

  • @TechnicalEric maybe the vha cable is not plugged in all the way or one of the wires are bad.

  • @sanad1999 the old ones have mini DVI not MIni Display port

  • How can i fix it so i can see the top bar on my TV, the gray bar with the mac options, the time, file, history, and all that. I have the older macbook pro, the all Silver one.

  • @l3mm1w1nk5 You just go into screen settings and drag the bar to either side

  • @l3mm1w1nk5 I FIGURED THIS OUT AFTER HIOURS OF PAINFUL TRIAL AND ERROR. IF YOU'RE ALSO USING THE INSIGNIA LED-LCD 22 INCH 1080P THAT I AM TRY THIS: MENU -> PICTURE --> ADVANCED VIDEO --> OVERSCAN. TURN OVERSCAN OFF. AS SOON AS YOU DO THIS IT SHOULD WORK! GOOD LUCK

YOUR MAC SHOULD BE SET TO HAVE THE OVERSCAN BOX CHECKED WITHIN THE APPLE DISPLAY SETTING PAGE. I DID NOT HAVE MUCH LUCK WITH MIRRORED IMAGES CHECKED.
