If that guy were to stand around an airport terminal today like he did back then, he'd be in custody. And back then, they really were the friendly skies; not just with United, but with all the airlines. Nowadays, air travel isn't worth the trouble.
You know all you people that have complaints about checked luggage fees it's cheaper to fly now. So Its not a "new" fee, its separating the ticket prices, Fly with bags pay the same as a full fare ticket 5 years ago, Fly without you get a cheaper ticket. There's nothing new, And nothing extra about it period. And if you don't believe me. "Economy fares are 35% cheaper now than they were 25 years ago, according to a study by USDOT." Also, don't blame airlines for TSA behavior, they're separate.
United Airlines stole our pension and violated every contract signed with the workers. They murdered tens of thousands of good hard working people. Now I am too old to ever recover my retirement savings because retirement savings depends on compounding interest over time. They murdered me in no uncertain terms. They deliberately and with malice, murdered me. United Airlines are mass murderers. Friendly Skies, my ass!
@JetMechMA You have my sympathies. Millions of hard working Americans have been dealt the same crummy hand by corporate America. What a shame too, because aside from the now long gone Pan American, whom I still miss every time I fly, United has always been my favourite US airline They are still my first choice when I make travel plans. United Airlines' treatment of their employees was shameful. All the warmed nuts in the world will not change that.
