Pure Prarie League sang "Amie" first. Vince Gill joined the band right after this song hit big. He said it was the best band he has ever been in. He quit to start a solo career.
My wife and I saw PPL in concert at UT Martin, Tn. in the late 70's I beleive it was. What great harmonies!! They did a cover of the Beatle's I've Just Seen a Face that just about knocked my socks off! Great band!
This is NOT a cover! It's the real deal! I'm guessing it was around 2004-2005, since Fats Kaplan is with them, and it's before Mike Reilly's accident that left him unable to play bass. Poco's bassist (Jack Sundrud) plays for them now, with Mike on the Mandolin and vocals. If you haven't seen them live, DO IT!!! I saw them last spring ('07) and they were GREAT!
Looks like-Fuller, Fuller's Son, Reilly, Burr, Fats, and Rick Schell

The Goshorn brothers were in before Vince Gill and the band was great then! Two Lane Highway, Amie, Kansas City Southern and Dark Colours.

Is Ricky Skaggs singing this? I know he was the original singer of this but I'm thinking he didn't sing this version?

This might get more views if you spelled Amie and prairie correctly. Geez, it's really not that hard.
