Thanks so much for this. My first time opening DVD Studio Pro (and compressor), trying to figure out how to burn a good quality DVD of my first feature documentary, maybe even layout a menu etc. I'm doing this all very independently, and stumbling my way through it all. Appreciate it when I come across a simple good explanation like this, and I may come back with questions later! -Matt
do u know if or your able to create a custom dvd?..ive been looking for awhile for a program for mac, i need a program where i can add multiple dvd or movie files to one dvd with also a custom menu..can u help please? my email is lgtexas2010@gmail.com .thanks
Does anyone here know why DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut Pro both cannot work with VOB files. I want to be able to insert a VOB file directly into DSP without having to encode it again. Thanks in advance
After I change the setting to advance I still don't find the templates inside the templates tab. Is there any way I can get them from somewhere out there, if yes please advise ....thanks
Hi Zach, Arnold here from Singapore. I'm new to final cut pro and i want to burn in DVD that is readable or playable on any laptop or pc format. Can you help me in the setting. I need this also so i can upload on youtube. I learn alot from your tutorial. Hope you be successful in whatever your dreams are coz I saw your interview also. Thanks and good day.
Please help me! I followed everything you mentioned and the quality looks great but It leaves about 25% of the DVD empty.. U know what I mean. LIke when I flip the DVD to look, It doesn't spread it out through the entire DVD..Wanted to know if that makes a difference in quality. Please respond back..Thanks
I followed each of the steps you gave on this tutorial and burned a disc successfully. However, when I play the DVD on another laptop, my old G4 laptop, it states "Supported Disc Not Available" nor will it play. I then tried a friend's PC computer and it wouldn't even read the disc. The underside of the disc shows it has info and burned correctly. I burned it on a DVD-R. Does this matter what type of disc I use? How do I get this DVD to play on all format/media?
nice video! i already use dvd studio but the preferences info at the start should come in useful to get the best quality out of my videos. i think that where i was always going wrong was not having the max quality on the dvd!

Thanks for the teaching.
My fcp project is 87 minutes long, the quick time movie is 16 GB. Would I be able to burn one DVD using DVD studio pro?

Did you use Compressor to prep your QT files that you imported into DVDSP? What was the workflow upon exporting from FCP?
Thanks! This was very helpful.

@4lifeent215 No I exported right from Final Cut Pro, I did not use compressor.
