I think you're a pretty great guy and down to Earth, but you're missing a big component to the autistic mystery... it isn't a mystery at all to the spiritualist heart centered people. We ARE spiritual beings, therefore basically everything is spiritual and has a spiritual origin. My synopsis is that you chose your life because it was a challenge, and you have the will power to succeed. Life is a hero's journey, and my feeling is that you've chosen to be one in your own life. Your videos are awesome. Now i know my son has Asperger's but it was not diagnosed until he was with 7 years old. I never believed he could not develop like any other kid and from motricial exercises to beating dislexia our life was marked by one challenge after another. He still spends most of his time alone, doesn't allow others to touch or kiss him, but in the outside world, he found his way to interact with people and he is just another little genious... you are a great dad... congrats...

i remember when i went on a school trip to a history museum when i was 6 and they asked why do you think the flame goes out when you cover it up and they was amazed when i said that it stops the oxygen getting to the flame. (i am very quiet) iv only just found out about aspergers a few weeks ago but it would explain alot about my life, my bad soical skills and interest in physics. i still havnt seen a doctor to get a diagnosis as im nervous to what i could say and what they might say/think.

Hey now! Don't blame mothers for autism! Yes, babies are very sensitive to their mother's subconscious states and that indeed messed up me and siblings because our constantly angry mother never wanted children. This was the cause of plenty, but not autism! We have also seen autism in family members who were absolutely doted on by their mothers. This includes my own adored twin daughters. Hyperawareness connected me so deeply to the girls that I knew I was pregnant almost right away.

My daughter has very similar traits as your son.I need to be tested for Aspergers myself.I have taken the Spectrum test and scored 41 and the norm is 15.I appreciate your defining Aspergers for everyone.I am a bit eccentric and I have goals in my head but when I tried college I found I was overwhelmed by everything.The busy people-places make me nervous so I quit.Is there anywhere that you know of where one can be tested as an adult?I would very much appreciate your input.

Your boy is bright and intelligent. See him as the person he is. Do not see him as "the asperger" the only Asperger was the professor of that name. In Denmark we have good results integrating people with that diagnosis. The emphasis is on a schedule of what the children can expect during the hours of the day. They have every right to live with their own personality. In acceptance and not being put on display. It hurts to be a strange butterfly on a needle in a box.

@msamericanpatriot In Denmark there are community centers for people with mental disorders. If a mental disorder hinders normal employment, the person is granted disabilty pension for life. Every person gets a contact person in connection with the community center and is taken care of, and are taking democratic part in the administration of the community centers where abouts.
Psykiatric support is free. Hospitals are free. Docters are free to consult.

@702xRyder it's not about making him "normal" and you can't just take autism away. it's about embracing the talents he has (or will have, since he's 2) and helping him communicate what he thinks and feels with others. autism needs to be understood, not cured. it's just the way he sees the world around him is a little different than most people. the sounds he makes may be him trying to help you understand what he feels or his way of comforting himself, since taking in so much at once can be scary

I think that, if you learn to deal with Asperger's enough and adjust to it, you can keep all the benefits from it, such as prolonged ability to focus, and become a great person in your field of interst, which most interests are stronger for those with Asperger's.

Your videos are awesome. Now i know my son has Asperger's but it was not diagnosed until he was with 7 years old. I never believed he could not develop like any other kid and from motricial exercises to beating dislexia our life was marked by one challenge after another. He still spends most of his time alone, doesn't allow others to touch or kiss him, but in the outside world, he found his way to interact with people and he is just another little genious... you are a great dad... congrats...

i remember when i went on a school trip to a history museum when i was 6 and they asked why do you think the flame goes out when you cover it up and they was amazed when i said that it stops the oxygen getting to the flame. Yes, babies are very sensitive to their mother's subconscious states and that indeed messed up me and siblings because our constantly angry mother never wanted children. This was the cause of plenty, but not autism! We have also seen autism in family members who were absolutely doted on by their mothers. This includes my own adored twin daughters. Your boy is bright and intelligent. See him as the person he is. Do not see him as "the asperger" the only Asperger was the professor of that name. In Denmark we have good results integrating people with that diagnosis. The emphasis is on a schedule of what the children can expect during the hours of the day. They have every right to live with their own personality. In acceptance and not being put on display. It hurts to be a strange butterfly on a needle in a box.

@msamericanpatriot In Denmark there are community centers for people with mental disorders. If a mental disorder hinders normal employment, the person is granted disabilty pension for life. Every person gets a contact person in connection with the community center and is taken care of, and are taking democratic part in the administration of the community centers where abouts.

Haha, I am a rare atypical extroverted Aspie and I've pondered it. At the risk of sounding offensive, as a child, I thought I was a black girl in a white body. I was born in 1965 and was socially treated like a black girl of the times, not a white girl, ergo my conclusion.

@702xRyder it's not about making him "normal" and you can't just take autism away. it's about embracing the talents he has (or will have, since he's 2) and helping him communicate what he thinks and feels with others. autism needs to be understood, not cured. it's just the way he sees the world around him is a little different than most people. the sounds he makes may be him trying to help you understand what he feels or his way of comforting himself, since taking in so much at once can be scary

Einstein, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin and many other great people are suspected of having Asperger syndrome! Although, they could never be tested since they were long gone by the time the ability to diagnose came around.
I think that, if you learn to deal with Asperger's enough and adjust to it, you can keep all the benefits from it, such as prolonged ability to focus, and become a great person in your field of interst, which most interests are stronger for those with Asperger's.

Example, I could always tell when my friend was lying because he would wipe his nose everytime. If you're wondering how I know that it's because the truth comes out eventually and people with Asperger's remember tiny details like someone wiping their nose when they said something suspicious.
